I was raised on both sides of the cinematic coin. While I
managed to see the biggest hits playing at the local theater, I also developed
a love for genre and exploitation cinema at a young and impressionable age thanks
to SYBIL DANNING’S ADVENTURE VIDEO and a healthy dose of Roger Corman. What do
exploitation films and blockbusters have in common? They are both a
collaborative effort reflecting a collection of influences. When I watch films
I see those influences playing out before me.
Just the other day I was watching Quentin Tarantino’s RESERVOIR DOGS.
There’s a moment where the camera pulls back to reveal Mr. Blonde that reminds
me of the reveal in Douglas Sirk’s MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION, though the latter
uses a tracking shot the homage is clear. One Perfect Shot was created to track
my cinematic synapse. I wanted to remember what shots reminded me of other
moments in film history. Now, I want to create a place where we can all do that
together with the One Perfect Shot social platform.

The new One Perfect Shot home will be a place to honor
cinema frame by frame. Users will be able to officially vote for the greatest
shot in each film we present and search the catalog of perfect shots by genre,
year, director of photography, director, and more specific categories that
reflect the type of shot. Users will also be able to create their own account
and assemble and upload their own perfect shots to share with the community or
to link to on a social platform. This is
a fully interactive environment for our growing community to celebrate the
moments in film that remind us each time we view them the power of cinema.

The funds we raise will be used to cover the cost of
web-programming (which will be highly customized), server management, and original art for the site. If we reach our stretch goal of $12,000,
we’ll be able shoot and edit our new web series that will break down specific
scenes in film and recommend titles and shots in film history. Should we go
beyond the stretch goal, we’ll begin production of the One Perfect Shot app for
iOS and Android. You were the key to One
Perfect Shot reaching over 60,000 subscribers on Twitter, you created this
community, and with your help it will become the next great film website and
hopefully inspire a new generation of perfect shots.

Jump in and let's get this film rolling. After you donate,
make sure to share the news on Twitter orFacebook,
tell your friends and family! If they love film like you and I, they need to
know about our community. This project is for you and will be a success because
of you and your efforts. I can't thank you enough for your support.
What if we are under our goal?
Well, we still go
ahead and create the site but it means that it will be scaled
down considerably. I’ve created successful sites before and know what it takes to create a
unique experience which is why I have set the budget at its current level. I
think this is a project you will be proud to have supported.
What if we are over our goal?
If we reach our stretch goal of $12,000, we’ll be able shoot and edit our
new web series that will break down specific scenes in film and highlight recommend titles
and shots in film history. Should we go beyond the stretch goal, we'll begin
production of the One Perfect Shot app for iOS and Android.
Other Ways You Can Help.
Hey, even if you
can't contribute money, you can still help. The best campaigns are successful
because they're shared. Forward the link to our campaign to your friends or
post it to your Facebook or Twitter account. If one of your friends donates
$25, it's a huge win for you and me!
