When it's forecast to rain outside soon, oombrella will send an alert to your smartphone EXACTLY WHERE you are and PRECISELY WHEN you need
The service is based on our existing platform: wezzoo. A social and real-time weather service: We give a voice to the people so they can share the weather they are experiencing. oombrella users will do the same but seamlessly: Each oombrella will collect data and share it with the community to make hyperlocal weather data more accurate.
Your smartphone will kindly notify you when you stray away (30/50m - 100/130ft) from the oombrella. Never leave it behind at the restaurant or anywhere else.
The umbrella canopy is made with our finest shiny material. The result is a strong and beautiful canopy optimized to have the smoothest noise under the rain and the coolest bright effects. Furthermore, it's UV resistant and windproof!
We thought about everyone and decided to make three versions of the oombrella canopy. The Shiny, the Black Edition and the White Edition.

You can choose between 2 sizes:

"classic" that is 95cm long (3.1 feet) with a curved handle
-
"fit-in-my-bag" that is 25 cm long (0.82 feet) with a straight handle

kevlar-made ribs, oombrella can withstand the high winds that often come with heavy rain. Or storms. Or hailstorms. Or snowstorms. Or ...

The oombrella
handle is also well thought out. The injected plastic ensures that the oombrella is waterproof. The capsule (see below), located at the end ensures a more comfortable, ergonomic and discrete grip.

We have also integrated a buzzer and a light inside the capsule. Thanks to it you can be alerted on the go if you have an incoming call on your smartphone or a notification that you could miss otherwise.
We have other ideas for the buzzer and the light. If you too have ideas, let us know, we would be happy to hear them and see if we can integrate them in our firmware.

There's a screw thread on the top of oombrella. Now we let you re-imagine your oombrella by customizing it!
You can screw a camera, a GoPro, whatever you want that gets a screwing device.
Maybe not the golf club we demoed in our video though ;-)

You can turn every umbrella into a connected one thanks to the "capsule".
It will perform the same functions (weather alert, forget-me-not alert, weather station) and will be attached to your umbrella on the handle be it a curved or a straight one.
The way to attach it onto your umbrella will either be a scratch or glue, depending on your feedback.

Everything happens on the handle of the oombrella and more precisely inside the "capsule".
The capsule is the brain of oombrella. This is where it feels, where it thinks and where it does the magic! With its range of sensors, oombrella is well-informed about:

how cold it is outside (temperature sensor),

how high the pressure is (pressure sensor),

how humid the air is (humidity sensor),

and if you are on the dark side (light sensor).

This collection of sensors talks to your smartphone thanks to the Bluetooth Low Energy technology.

The app works in notification mode as shown before. But, if you enable the option, we can also track your usage of the oombrella by:

accessing all the stats of your last trip with your oombrella (duration, weather conditions, temperature and humidity you were exposed to),

browsing your global usage statistic history (number of days used, times used, weather history, ...)
-
seeing all the other oombrella community members in your neighborhood
-
discovering the last position of your oombrella when you took it with you

The electronic Capsule has been thought and designed by EXOTIC SYSTEMS. The team is gathered around Guillaume, Julien and Laurent. They are really involved in turning quickly good ideas of connected objects into simple and robust electronic systems, ready for industrialization. EXOTIC created both a small and smart electronic. They have a sharp eye for detail and resulted in a great electronic device for the capsule. Here is the brain.

Pourquoi ne pas rendre la pluie fun ??
Il faut avouer qu'on oublie son parapluie justement quand on en a besoin !! Pas fun !
Quel sentiment désagréable que de penser à son parapluie bien au sec chez soi alors qu'on se fait rincer par la pluie...
Ce qui rend oombrella unique est justement son service de notification qui vous alerte quand vous en avez vraiment besoin : avant la pluie et si vous l'oubliez quelque part.
oombrella est avant tout un parapluie ! Donc il vous protège de la pluie et résiste également au vent fort avec ses baleines résistantes.
Il s'adapte à vos attentes. En terme de couleur d'abord ou vous pouvez choisir le modèle Shiny ou opter pour un très élégant White Edition ou un plus classique mais revisité Black Edition. Vous pouvez choisir également la taille : format classic ou format pliable de poche.
Pour les fans de météo, vous pourrez également avoir un suivi de vos activités et suivre la météo que vous avez eu pendant que vous êtiez dehors. Comment ? Grace aux différents capteurs présents dans la poignée : température, pression, humidité, luminosité. Nous utilisons toutes ces données pour créer les notifications "Emmène-moi avec toi, il va pleuvoir dans 15 minutes".
Au fait, une dernière chose ! Il y a un pas de vis universel en haut de l'oombrella. Parfait pour accrocher votre GoPro et voir le monde de haut pendant qu'il pleut.
