What Exactly Is The Orbiter™?
The Orbiter™ is a fidget device constructed of the highest strength alloy of Titanium available, a super strong neodymium magnet core, and a tarnish-resistant Chrome Steel ball to interact with the magnet. Contained inside the Orbiter™ is a series of vibration dampeners in order to provide the smoothest operation possible. This combination of materials and component designs allows you to fidget and play with the Orbiter™ in ways you never thought possible.

Why Do We Need Your Help?
Our initial prototype run of the Orbiter™ has been met with remarkable success and praise from our loyal and invaluable early adopters. Armed with the things we have learned from the initial run, we want to bring you an even more incredible user experience that we simply couldn’t achieve on our own. TEC Accessories has partnered with one of the world's front-runners in Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) technology to bring our exclusive Black Diamond Carbon coating to the Orbiter™. This campaign will allow us to enter production-scaled processes and quantities. With the Black Diamond Carbon coating applied, the Orbiter™ will offer an ultra-low friction rolling surface, unparalleled abrasion resistance to scuffs and scratches, and a beautiful charcoal-black finish constructed of actual diamond.
If we meet our order minimums, we will also be able to expand the material construction options to Aluminum Bronze. This alloy of Copper, Aluminum, Manganese, and Nickel is significantly denser than the current offering of Titanium construction. This increased density improves the stability of the experience and superior vibration dampening. This unique alloy of Bronze is also referred to as “bearing bronze”. The bearing bronze has the advantage of being a low-friction rolling surface with a beautiful pale gold finish that takes a superior polish.
The bottom line is: we need your help to make these newer, refined versions of the Orbiter™ a reality! We want to world to have access to these improved versions that we are also so excited about, but cannot currently meet the manufacturing costs for a higher production number of them, and to continue making improvements to the Orbiter™ design.

The Orbiter™ has continually been refined since July 2016, and has gone through many prototypes and revisions leading up to the present version 3 of the titanium Orbiter™ that we are bringing to Indiegogo today. Originally, it was called the UFO, or the “Unidentified Fun Object.” The carbon fiber scales and bronze prototypes featured a hollow center and were relatively thin, but they easily fell apart. The resin version was colorful and had a concave center that could be used as a worrystone. However, creating a consistently high-quality product was difficult.
When we developed the first version of the titanium Orbiter™, we knew immediately that we had finally come up with a product that users might like. Earlier this year, we began testing the user market by selling a few batches of our first titanium units. We discovered through this process that there were improvements needed, and iterated our way through multiple manufacturing design improvements, a newer, even stronger bonding technique, increased size of vibration dampeners, and a new polishing technique at a higher standard. With these improvements, we present to you the updated Version 3 of the titanium Orbiter™ that includes the concave center, a beveled edge for the ball to roll around, and a much more durable and polished finish. Along with an improved titanium Orbiter™ for this Indiegogo campaign, we are very excited to present the new Aluminum Bronze and Black Diamond prototypes. These awesome three new and updated Orbiter™ designs offer ultra-low-friction rolling surfaces with beautiful polish and durability.

Our administrative office in Pleasanton, California manages corporate management and product development. Our Tucson, Arizona facility is the TEC Accessories center of operations for all manufacturing and fulfillment.
We process orders from our web site and our reseller network on a daily basis, typically within one working day. We have trained staff to accommodate this campaign, we do not need to hire short-term inexperienced people to ship your order. You can be assured that your rewards will be packaged, processed and shipped using the same care and attention we perform daily.
What’s Next?
Multiple prototypes and versions of The Orbiter™ have been refined over the past several months by incorporating user feedback. Based on the great reception, we decided to commit to this Orbiter™ design and model for this Kickstarter. Our pre-production run of parts is identical to the planned production run. These pre-production parts will be assembled and allocated to the Early Bird Rewards at the end of the Indiegogo campaign.
As soon as the campaign ends, the production run will be as follows:
- 4-5 weeks fabrication time
- 1 week finishing and inspection
- 1 week assembly
- Begin fulfillment and shipping
We expect the Early Bird Rewards to be shipped by mid-August, and the remainder of the rewards to be shipped by late September.
Risks and Challenges
Although our timeline may seem aggressive, we have found success with crowdfunding before and are adamant about delivering on our promises. We are very grateful to the crowdfunding community for your overwhelming support in our most recent Pixel TI Microlight Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1868151987...), reaching over four times our funding goal. Thus, we feel confident about our ability to deliver another innovative product to you.
We have worked hard to create the most high-quality product for you, but we recognize that there may be road bumps along the way. For example, while stepping up to full-scale manufacturing, there may be a loss in product yield and quality. We are strict about conducting manual, detailed inspections of every product. Only the most polished and durable units will be sent to customers. In addition, since every Orbiter™ takes a week to polish, assemble, and inspect, delays may occur due to manufacturing equipment malfunctions or problems with delivery or quality of materials. Our decade-long track record of building relationships with suppliers and resellers make us confident that we can overcome any production issues. If an issue does arise, we promise to maintain our commitment to customer service by communicating updates quickly.
