Jennifer Salinas
At a young age, Jennifer Salinas began to fight to protect herself and combat harassment and bullying. Jennifer soon realized that she could release her aggression through boxing, and transformed her image from hoodlum to athlete. Since turning to boxing, Jennifer has made it into the professional women’s circuit of boxing. In 2001, Jennifer won the Michigan Golden Gloves Championship in her category and soon started to travel all over the United States looking for fighting engagements. She turned pro in 2003 and moved to Las Vegas to train with Floyd Mayweather, Sr. for several months. Her path hasn’t been without its rough patches; having to deal with shady mangers and fighting for small purses; howerver, Jennifer has remained optimistic and is now an important figure for aspiring Latino boxers. She has also been a part of a women’s boxing reality show in Mexico.
Despite her many acheivements, Jennifer now has the odds stacked against her as she returns after a year and a half absence from the professional circut. Jennifer recently turned 30 years old and has four children, including a newborn. She lost her last two professional bouts by decision, one of which was for a world championship title in Mexico against Jackie Nava. She is determined to prove to her friends, family, and fellow athletes that she still has what it takes to be a world champion. She hopes to inspire other mothers to keep their own dreams alive and show that women are more than capable to hold their own in any sport.
On July 28, 2012, we will be filming Jennifer's return to the world of professional women's boxing. She is set to fight Angel Gladney at the Epicentre in North Carolina. Jennifer is so detirmined to get back in the ring, that she has decided to take this fight without a purse even though she just recently sustained an injury while training.

![Elias Roca Displaying his medals]()
Elias Roca
Like most boys in Bolivia, Elias grew up kicking a soccer ball, then, at age16, he decided to try boxing and over these past 7 years has become one of the most recognisable amateur fighters in Bolivia.
The loss of his father’s travel bus company has left his family impoverished. Living in a house that is not complete, having shower curtains for doors in order to keep the cold and wildlife from entering his home, and using wraps that clearly need to be replaced, or gloves that are older than Elias, he still manages to train effectively, and has become an inspiration to other up incoming boxers from his city of Tarija.
In 2009, Elias stepped away from boxing for a year in order to help out his family, but his father soon realized that Elias is a very talented boxer and now has high hopes that his son will be able to break into the international boxing world and become Bolivia’s first major champion. Elias came back to boxing in November 2010 and quickly became a national champion once again. Since then, he has participated in two international championships and hopes to become known as an international boxer in years to come.
In May, Elias was defeated in a pre-Olympic tournament in Brazil due to a controversial loss which favored a Colombian boxer. Given his recent defeat and environment, Elias still manages to keep a positive outlook on life and we are sure you won't be able to help but feel inspired once you see him on camera.
