Isaac, a promising filmmaker, and his brilliant girlfriend Gia, a medical researcher, retreat to a charming cottage to take a break from their hectic city lives. While the cabin provides a temporary escape from reality, it only delays the inevitable as tensions from their lives back home begin to creep into their winter getaway. Will their final night determine the fate of their relationship?

With "Our Little Life", I hope to explore these subtle, often overlooked, aspects that make a relationship. I chose to focus on communication and the repercussions of suppressed emotions as this is something I have personally struggled with in relationships with partners, friends and family. With 'Our Little Life,' we will produce a film of outstanding quality, both visually and narratively, positioning it as a strong contender in renowned film festivals worldwide. We aspire to share this beautiful, heartfelt story with as many people as possible, believing in its potential to deeply resonate with individuals on a personal level.

Producing this film is a labor of love and excitement on the behalf of the creators. In order to fund production, we will need $18,600. While the creators and crew are volunteering their time to make this vision come to life, there are certain production costs we can’t fund with passion.

This includes gear rentals, accommodations, feeding the crew after long days on set, paying our talented cast, transport to our charming location in the woods, editing, sound design, music licensing, colouring, film festival submission fees, etc.

Filming will take place over 3 days in a remote cottage in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec. We plan to start filming in a couple of weeks, so time is of the essence when it comes to funding. We are confident that we have the skills and vision to produce a stunning and highly compelling short film within budget, but we need your help! Matthew Matlin (he/him) is a writer and director originally from New Jersey and raised in Montreal, Canada. Matthew has collaborated extensively with production companies spanning from Montreal to Paris, accumulating an impressive portfolio comprising commercials and music videos. Equipped with his previous experience with scripted content, this upcoming project will mark his debut in narrative filmmaking!

Raphael Turcotte (he/him) is a cinematographer from Montreal, Canada. He possesses a unique eye for detail, and an unparalleled ability to evoke emotions through his work. Raphael and Matthew have collaborated extensively on various projects, and claim to be known on the streets as "The Diamond Duo" or "The Fire and Ice of Filmmaking". 

Jacy Storfer (she/her) is an accomplished producer with extensive experience, adept at leading collaborative teams to achieve their objectives. She excels in managing resources, budgets, scheduling, crew, locations, talent, and various other aspects crucial to project success. Jacy is the driving force behind ensuring this project stays on course, fueled by a strong motivation to deliver exceptional results.

Seb Furtado (he/him) is a highly seasoned producer, and an absolute force to be reckoned with. He has collaborated as a producer with prominent brands and industry giants including BRP, Arc'teryx, Electronic Arts, Google, Vox Media, and others.
