The Backstory
OVAL was created by a parent as a way to help prevent prescription drug and alcohol abuse. A few years ago, Rich Cosgrove's teenage son expressed concern over the rampant use of these substances among his peers. Given the growing epidemic of the abuse of these substances and how they can potentially lead to other drug use and addiction, Rich began to think of an unobtrusive way for parents to monitor their medicine and liquor cabinets. And the idea for OVAL was born.
But It Began To Evolve...
The idea for OVAL began to develop further. Why just monitor motion when we can have it do so much more?
We began to work on a prototype and within 10 months had OVAL sensors detecting changes in motion, light, moisture, temperature and proximity. This enabled OVAL to have thousands of additional uses. Not only can parents use these sensors to protect sensitive and potentially dangerous items around their home, but everyone could now use OVAL to protect the people, pets and things they care about most.

Risks and Challenges
As with any innovative tech project, challenges will emerge during the production process. Collectively, our core team has decades of hands-on, custom manufacturing experience. This experience runs the gamut from packaging, injection molding, tooling to avionics, software engineering, biomedical, and consumer electronics. We have conducted extensive research, built numerous iterations of fully functioning OVAL prototypes, tested, and received ongoing feedback from consumers and technical experts.
We maintain long standing business relationships with manufacturers who partner with leading consumer electronics companies. The selected manufacturers have reviewed our project, prototypes and plan. They look forward to partnering with OVAL to produce a high quality, professional standard product.
