OVER A BOOK - THE FILM
Written by Guy Barnes (Suicide Platoon) & script edited by Rad Brown & Hannaj Bang Bendz.
SYNOPSIS:
David is a very reserved and conventional middle aged man. The kind of man you wouldn't look twice at in the street and has worked a 9-5 in the city since forever.
David has always been completely devoted to his wife Mary , even now the debilitating illness she has been battling for years finally results in her residence of a hospice. He visits her daily , taking flowers and chatting to her , never really sure how much of his Mary remains.
Following an altercation with his boss who has been concerned about David's state of mind and the affect on his work , mild mannered David snaps and quits, not only his job , but his home also. He sells up and moves to a quiet country cottage where he hopes for the solitude to fulfil his dream of becoming a writer and relax.
Still, he continues to commute to visit his Mary.
Then , whilst in the village local pub, the enigmatic , young Judy enters David's life , turning his world upside down and wrenching at every one of his emotions and principles .
Will this end in tears or be a "Happy ever after" ?
Here's a brief read-through by Hannaj & Guy.

What We Need & What You Get
£15000. Granted , it may sound a large sum , but in the world of film it's surprising how quickly a budget gets swallowed.
Naturally , people need feeding so there are the catering costs and in many cases accommodation. Some locations need to be hired as does some equipment. We are fortunate to have a crew that have much of their own , but as an indie team we cannot afford it all , plus we like to allow a buffer for equipment failure as this can seriously hinder the production schedule.
Post production is also an area that takes it's toll with certification , festival fees and other distribution costs.
Any support we can get from you good folks will get us nearer to making this awesome thought provoking drama and you won't go unrewarded. We hope that our list of perks in return will reflect your level of support , but moreover you'll be able to say "I helped make that happen!"
If the perks you see don't float your boat , please feel free to contact us. We are always open to negotiation.
Ok, so there's every chance we may not reach our funding goal. That doesn't mean we're beaten , it merely may delay production. We are relentless and passionate film-makers and refuse to leave a good script on the shelf for long. We intend to make this film , but would love our supporters to play a part in helping to produce it.
