Usage's Features

OWL protect your camera sensor from dust, water and oil drops without affecting photo quality and have the effect you want at the same time.

It is very easy to clear the filter. And because of it, Using OWL can avoid any damage by scratching while clearing. All we need is only to insert a filter.

It also can substitute the rear cap to protect the rear lens while we take off the lens.

In another case, even if all of our lenses are in the same ring size, we tend to buy a filter for each lens because changing filter is really tired and time wasting.

Large filters are very expensive, but OWL is only using 52mm filter. It makes OWL save so much cost not only in avoiding buying numerous filters, also in using large filters.

The above special lens are impossible to install filters in traditional way. It limits the creativity of photography. However, OWL breaks it through. Only take one step to install OWL. We can create the effect we want easily. Nothing can limit our imagination anymore.

OWL is much smaller and lighter than traditional filter holder. And it is much easier to set up. It only takes one simple step to change filter. Filters

Filter is the heart of OWL. The quality of filter will definitely influence OWL directly. To create magical effects, we are choosing series of high quality filter for you carefully. You can use the filters we provided to achieve below effects freely.

Effects

Polarizer (C-PL) oblique reflections from non-metallic surfaces, can darken the sky in colour photography , and can saturate the image more by eliminating unwanted reflections.

Color Filters are widely used in Black and White photography and portrait photography. Yellow can absorb blue light, darkening the sky to more closely match what the eye would see. Orange reduces the appearance of freckles and blemishes, giving the skin a healthy, smooth look. Red can give bold and dramatic effects to many photographs and marked penetration of haze and fog. Green is mainly used for photographing plants as it helps separate the green foliage from the brightly-coloured flowers and buds. Blue can really add “mood” to a photograph and reduced contrast can be useful for giving a shot a calm, soothing atmosphere.

Variable ND Filter (VND) works by placing two polarizing filters together at least one of which can rotate. The rear polarizing filter cuts out light in one plane. As the front element is rotated, it cuts out an increasing amount of the remaining light the closer the front filters comes to being perpendicular to the rear filter. The advantages to this are that you get multiple ND filters in one package.

FAQs

Q: Can I adjust the aperture of on my camera body by using OWL?

A: Because electric parts is under development, you cannot adjust the aperture with OWL. But Canon CP lens and all manually aperture control can be used undoubtedly.

Q: If I have filters, can I use my own filter on OWL?

A: As long as your filter physically fit the filter holder (52mm filter thread, diameter of filter ring within 54mm and the thickness of your filter within 5mm), it is all OK! But we do not suggest to use Cross filter and Star filer. The effect is not good.

Q: Will OWL affect the quality of image?

A: Yes, bad quality filters may cause color shift, flare, sharpness reducing and internal reflection. However, DEO filters have been repeatedly tested. You can use DEO filers without any worry. But if you want to use your own filters, you need to choose filter carefully to avoid above problems.

Q: How to install the filter into OWL?

1.Install filter onto the filter holder (OWL filter adapter).

2.Insert holder to OWL.

3.Install lens and attach to camera body.

Only DEO excusive CPL, VND, color temperature and color grade filters can use with OWL.

Q: Can I use OWL without filter?

A: Sure, OWL is at good finish. You can definitely use OWL as an adapter.

Q: Can OWL apply on DSLR?

A: Because OWL is designed for Mirrorless Camera only, it won’t have for DSLR version.

Q: Is there any lens cannot use with OWL?

A: All DSLR lens can use OWL, only if the lens with rangefinder (Leica M lens). And if the rear lens is extend over 12mm, it can use OWL without installing filter.

Q: Will OWL have light leaking problem?

A: Light leaking problem will not happen on OWL unless user take off the filter holder during exposure.

Q: Will OWL have another color?

A: No.
