Short Summary

My name is Nathalie Jean and I have been a tattoo artist in Montreal for 25 years. I have been an artist for most of my life. During the pandemic I started creating paper doll crafts to share on social media. I thought it would be something to distract people and something fun to share with everyone. My dolls started to be passed around the internet and I soon realized that people were genuinely into them and showed a level of interest that I was not expecting. I started to receive doll requests and online donations to thank me for my artwork. I received emails from  Europe, Canada and the USA showing me the finished results of these dolls, colored and put together. I decided to continue with the project and have created a thirty page book of different characters that I love and have decided to pay tribute to. Like many people my career was put on hold for the past few months and I thought I  could do something productive not only to make money with but also something fun  and enjoyable to share with others. Perhaps a little something  that can occupy people and distract them from the current state of affairs.   
 

The money I can raise with this page would help me get a first batch of printing done and would help make my coloring book come to fruition. I am asking people to help me raise money by buying pre sales of my book or simply by donating to help me make it happen. This would be a way for me to have an achievement during  this pandemic. It is also a way for me to make a coloring craft book that is not mainstream and hopefully brings a unique collection of crafts and paper dolls that the public will not see too often together in a book.  Giving light to some artists and characters that people may never have heard of before or to give these people and characters some acknowledgement for their contribution to art and culture. It’s my way of paying tribute. This money would help me have an actual professionally  bound book for sale and would help me make something fun, unique and different.
