Our goal is to bring conversation back to the table!

Phones are addictive and our impulse to check and use our phones has seeped into all aspects of our lives. Pause is here to encourage you to put your phones aside, if only for a short meaningful while. 

When you put your phones in a Pause box, it blocks all wi-fi signals, all incoming calls, and all text messages as well as any other cell phone distractions.

WHY PAUSE?

The simple answer is that phones have an addictive nature.  We all claim that we'll disconnect, but the truth is, most of us never do.

This is why we need Pause.

Pause isn't a magical fix, but it is a lifestyle product designed to encourage and make it easy for us (both adults and kids) to put our phones down.

HOW TO USE PAUSE?

It’s super easy- just put your phone in the box and close the lid. That's it. It’s made from special materials that block all cellphone signals.

Pause was designed for the whole family, starting with parents who set the example by putting their phones in first to communicate the message that “family time is important.”

That is exactly the reason why we've decided to partner with "Just Share" and offer you a basic set of amazing playing cards suitable for kids and teens to help you initiate a conversation. Now you can talk to each other and share your daily moments.

The game aims to strengthen the bond between parent and child, between siblings or friends by exploring  and sharing feelings, thoughts, and experiences with one another in a creative way.  
"Just Share" is a non-competitive activity for the whole family. The recommended ages are for parents and children aged 5-12, though children of any age can enjoy and partake in the fun.

What exactly does Pause do?
Pause blocks cell-phone signals, Wi-Fi included, and enables families, friends, and groups to create phone-free quality time. 

Why do I need it? Why not just put my phone on airplane mode? 
We agree and we encourage you to do so. Families we spoke to expressed their challenges to us, which is what led us to design Pause in the first place.  It’s just one of those things that seems easier than it is. The mere presence of Pause serves as a reminder to put your phone away and helps families create a daily phone-free routine.  

How can Pause help me?
We designed Pause to eliminate distractions and make it easier for all of us to disconnect from our smartphones. We’ve been testing Pause, and over the last few months Pause has helped our families greatly reduce our phone overuse. With continuous use, Pause can help us build and strengthen a habit of putting our phones away and being present.

How do I use Pause?
Just put your phones inside the Pause box and close the lid. That’s it. There are no installations, no setups, no downloads nor any kind of activation. It’s like a plug n’ play, only the opposite: unplug and don’t play.    

Why do you think we need help?
Let's face it - excessive smartphone use is a modern day epidemic. We’re available 27/4 but never truly present with anyone anywhere. In the recent years it’s becoming more and more rare to have a genuine, present conversation with other people. Pause provides an incentive and a daily reminder to take control over your time and attention.
 
It doesn’t really solve the problem as I still need to put my kids phones in the box
We’re not claiming Pause is magical. You’ll still need to enforce the new tradition, but after a few days, you’ll notice that everyone will start to look forward to it, and appreciate the time spent with one another. Pause is a tool, not a magic bullet - you have to set the example (you set an example)
 
Will the phone’s battery be drained while inside the box?
Nope. The box's technology doesn’t drain the battery. Smart-phones behave as if in any other environment that lacks reception.
 
Is there a safety issue?
Nope. The physical nature of Pause is based on the "Faraday Cage Concept", which means that the case is blocking the phone's RF inside the box and transforming it to electric fields. In that way much less radiation is transmitted outside of the box and using it is 100% safe.
