PETT Plant is a true work of art not only inspired by nature, but created directly from the natural world! There are no computers, 3D printers or anything digital involved in the rendering of the flowers. The Plants come directly from nature, to art studio to you via our own proprietary Direct-Life-Molding process. Early PETT Plant supporters will be able to choose from one of four variations of different species for their PETT and receive a free lifecast succulent ring as well. (We will contact you by email to determine which species and which ring you prefer after you make your contribution.)

PETT Plant is not a product from a factory, it is a hand made and produced sculpture that fuses art, science and technology to create a truly interactive experience that is as beautiful as it is mesmerizing!

PETT Plant comes with a custom designed Android app and several pre-programmed light animations you can choose from with your smart phone. In addition, you can adjust the speed at which any animation plays, or simply press the hold button to freeze the sculpture wherever you want.

PETT Plant's illuminated interactive stems are movable and will stay in whatever position you pose them in. It will fit most anywhere, anyhow and with anything and loves the company of living plants. And with the addition of our custom magnetic mounting bracket, it can hang from the ceiling as a chandelier as well.

PETT Plant has a sound responsive mode where the color of each stem modulates like a rainbow graphic equalizer!

PETT Plant also comes pre-programmed with several brainwave entrainment sequences you can use together with any of the light animations. (Brainwave entrainment is the phenomena by which brainwaves synchronize with light and sound waves under the right conditions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainwave_entrainment) In entrainment mode, PETT Plant will pulsate at specific frequencies to help move you into brainwave states conducive to inducing sleep, meditation or increasing alertness. And unlike with entrainment goggles, PETT Plant will allow two or even a whole group of people to synchronize their brain waves together in tandem! WARNING: If you are epileptic or in any other way prone to seizures, entrainment is not for you, as it has been shown that blinking lights can induce seizures in those that are predisposed to having them.

PETT Plant is USB powered. Plug it into any phone charger, your computer, a portable power bank or one of our Powerslugs if you would like to take it somewhere out into the world where the electrons are beyond your control.

PETT Plant's brain is the Teensy 3.1, an ARM-based, Arduino-compatible microcontroller module. It is programmable with the open source Arduino IDE. Brainwave entrainment not your thing? Reprogram it to do whatever you want!

BioTronEsis is a collective of hyper creative, tech smart artists and programmers collaborating to create uniquely transformative art experiences that fuse nature, art, science and technology. Our namesake, the 2014 Burning Man piece BioTronEsis, is a giant electroluminescent biopod we created that employs brain wave entrainment and binaural beats to help induce group trance experiences. It was from the overwhelming response, appreciation and love we received with our Biotron in the desert last year, that we now feel obliged to share this with the world at large! The PETT Plant is the culmination of a 6 month effort to do just that!

This campaign will help us to fund that process the rest of the way by providing us with the necessary capitol to design and make custom printed circuit boards, finish and test the app, as well as supply all the materials and other electronics to make our first limited edition production run in time for the holiday season.

As an artist, I have been molding and casting living things and incorporating them into sculpture for the last 20 years. Now immersed in the transformative art movement, I have been creating light and sound art that incorporates brain wave entrainment, biofeedback and and various other transformative technologies to listen to and translate biometric data generated by humans into light animations and soundscapes.

RISKS AND CHALLENGES:

As of the beginning of this campaign, our working prototype and the initial molds for getting the production line going are complete and ready to go! We manufacture the parts ourselves and source most of the materials and electronics in the US, so many of the risks normally associated with overseas factories and sourcing materials abroad are not so much of a concern for our campaign. As well, the Android version of our APP is most of the way there. Challenges are concerned with the lack of an iOS version in this first production run. It will be our first priority to address this concern with an iOS development benchmark goal if there is sufficient demand from people. We are counting on support from the Indiegogo community to let us know.
