PINCH is a feature film by Australian director/producer/writer Jeffory Asselin.

GENRE:

Coming of age crime drama.

SYNOPSIS
A light-fingered teen living in industrial suburbia struggles in the shadow of his Mother’s desperate need for an organ donor. When he skips school to take a job at a second hand car yard he soon uncovers a front for a local crime syndicate. Convinced he can buy his Mother a second chance at life, he schemes to pinch a large drug haul, but soon discovers life sinking from naive penny pinching to the abyss of major crime.

DIRECTORS NOTE
I always had this idea about a bunch of kids who set out on a big adventure to rip off a major crime syndicate. Who cares about dirty money and who would suspect the kids anyway? I grew up in a state-housing project and a lot crazy stuff happened in that world which I explore in this film.

In November 2012 an opportunity came up to shoot a feature length film armed with merely a few trusted heads of department and a troupe of eager postgraduate film students. I soon realised I was going to have to harness my inner bogan and hustle like a street punk to pull off this film. So without batting an eyelid I threw on my directors cape and PINCH spawned on the page.

The irony so far is we have battled alongside the films dysfunctional characters and their plights to get the film made. One of the stronger themes resonating from the film is the fight for survival and that desperation can lead us to do anything. I felt this fight during almost seven weeks of principle shoot having to compromise with a near to no budget.

Now the passion is in the pudding of this beautifully shot film that was assisted by an equally passionate cast and crew. We now have a FINAL CUT!

Help support this uniquely independent Australian film so we can bring it to a screen near you!
