The Pocket Tripod's initial concept was first introduced on Kickstarter back in 2013, and again in 2016 in a more universal design. Raising a total of more than $260,000 with the help of over 8000 backers.

We set out to make the most practical iPhone accessory that's actually with you when you need it, instead of sitting at home collecting dust.
Thanks to your support, we successfully achieved our goal. The Pocket Tripod was manufactured and shipped to all our 2,565 backers on time. Now it's being used by thousands of people worldwide as their primary iPhone tripod.

Our backers have been essential in shaping the Pocket Tripod’s future. The one thing that was requested the most was to have the Pocket Tripod compatible with phones that are in a case because removing the case would take too much time and just isn't convenient.
So we decided to make the Pocket Tripod universal. Instead of having it made specific to any iPhone, we’ve changed its design to take any device that matches its opening size.
Each Pocket Tripod size has a wider opening than the next by an increment of 0.5 mm.
Fine enough to coincide with the thickness of almost any device on the market and any case.
Three sizes of the universal Pocket Tripods have already been produced and have been user-tested for more than a year. With your help, we plan to make them all.

We’ve spent the past few months working with some of the top case manufacturers to test the Pocket Tripod and make sure it's compatible with their most popular cases. We’ve also shipped these universal Pocket Tripods to the backers of our first Kickstarter campaign for further user testing and feedback. Risks and challenges
The funds we need to raise in this campaign are to pay for the cost of production of our new Pocket Tripod sizes. The cost of manufacturing the tooling has already been paid for thanks to our backers who helped us reach our goal in 2013. Since then we have gained lots of experience in producing Pocket Tripods. Having shipped Pocket Tripods to thousands of customers worldwide, we've also created an efficient delivery process.
The only factor that can create a challenge is having a large surge of demand. Having too many pre-orders - in excess of 1000 Pocket Tripods - can cause delays. This is because the production process is very labour intensive, and increasing the quantity we need may cause our manufacturer to demand more time and delay production and delivery. Each unit is individually tested after assembly, and carefully packaged. There are many sub-components that go into making a complete Pocket Tripod. A surge in demand can create delays as one or more of our suppliers try to meet the increased demand.
However, we will be in constant communication with our suppliers as well as backers, and will do all that we can to ensure the rewards are delivered on time.
