Overview
PocketLab Air is an all-in-one science lab for investigating climate change and air pollution in your environment. PocketLab Air can measure carbon dioxide, ozone, particulate matter (PM1, PM2.5, PM10), temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and light. We've designed PocketLab Air to be capable enough for air quality researchers but simple enough for a 4th grade student.

PocketLab Air is an all-in-one science lab for investigating climate change and air pollution in your environment. PocketLab Air can measure carbon dioxide, ozone, particulate matter (PM1, PM2.5, PM10), temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and light. We've designed PocketLab Air to be capable enough for climate and air quality researchers but simple enough for a 4th grade student learning about Earth science.

Measure carbon dioxide, ozone, particulate matter, and weather conditions. Investigate how air quality is affected by soot, dust smoke, and other fine particles from vehicles, wildfires, factories, and other sources. PocketLab Air can compute the Air Quality Index (AQI) score by measuring particles sizes of 1 um, 2.5 um, and 10 um.

Map the pollution data that you collected to your phone GPS location to generate maps of air quality in your local community.

You can view sensor data on any phone, tablet, or computer with Bluetooth 4.0 support.

Store up to 30,000 data points on the internal memory and then download the data to your phone, tablet, or computer.

Simultaneously measure all the sensor parameters: carbon dioxide, ozone, particulate matter, temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and light.

Wirelessly transmit data in real-time using Bluetooth 4.0. PocketLab Air can transmit up to 250 feet when in direct line of sight.

You can view sensor data on any phone, tablet, or computer with Bluetooth 4.0 support. PocketLab Air is small, rugged, and portable so you can attach it to things like weather balloons and drones.

You can collect pollution and emissions data in many new environments and applications.

Every PocketLab Air comes with a custom molded protective carrying case and accessories for going out in the world and exploring.

PocketLab Air fits right along with your other tech gadgets and gear.

View your map of data in an interactive user interface that intuitively shows how the air pollution changes from location to location.

Turn your everyday commute into an air quality experiment.

You can better understand the air quality in your community and engage in pursuits like environmental justice.

PocketLab Air joins our other award-winning products that enable anyone to be a scientist and explore the world around them.

With PocketLab Air's Mission Mode, you can collaborate on global climate, air quality, and weather experiments. Request data contributions from other PocketLab Air users or submit your data to investigations set up by fellow citizen scientists, classroom teachers, and climate and air quality researchers.

With PocketLab Air you will be part of a movement to fight climate change and air pollution with real data from users all over the world.

Your data will never be shared without your permission and you can opt-in or out of any features.

Features:

  • Keep a timeline of your experiments
  • Display your data with geolocation
  • Join experiments set up other users or the PocketLab team
  • Use an interactive mapping interface
  • Organize projects on climate change and air quality
  • Choose to share experiments with the PocketLab community
  • Access PocketLab data from any internet connection

*PocketLab Weather is a rugged weather center that can measure temperature, humidity, light, barometric pressure, heat index, dew point and can connect to an external temperature probe. We launched PocketLab Weather last year in an Indiegogo campaign. If you select the PocketLab Air + PocketLab Weather perk, you will receive your PocketLab Weather sensor immediately after we confirm your payment.

**PocketLab Voyager is is an all-in-one science lab that is capable enough for a professional engineer and simple enough for a 4th grade student. Voyager can measure motion, light, magnetic field, and weather, and you can attach an external temperature probe. PocketLab Voyager includes an optical range finder that works from 10 cm to 2 meters, and is perfect for measuring the speed and position of moving objects like rockets.  If you select the PocketLab Air + PocketLab Voyager perk, you will receive your PocketLab Voyager sensor immediately after we confirm your payment.

We've been working on PocketLab Air for months and have iterated on the hardware design many times already.

Augmented reality for science! Here is a quick demo of PocketLab Air's micro-controller and weather sensors working with new enhancements to PocketLab Science Vision, an augmented reality data and video overlay feature already available in the PocketLab App.

The mission of PocketLab is to enable people to discover the joy of science and explore the world around them. PocketLab started in October 2013 when inventor Clifton Roozeboom was developing new wireless sensor technology for his PhD. He was searching for a way to bring advanced sensor technology to science education. Now PocketLab is used by tens of thousands of people in 56 different countries. By supporting our Kickstarter campaign, you are helping bring PocketLab Air to life, a product that we hope will inspire thousands of users to combat air pollution and climate change.

The PocketLab Team is a small group of engineers and teachers that believe in the joy of science. We believe that is important for everyone to understand science and explore the world around them. We love our customers and users around the world and we hope you will join us!

First, we want to thank YOU for supporting our campaign and partnering with us! We want to especially thank all those returning Kickstarter backers that have supported us through three campaigns! PocketLab is for all the curious students, educators, hobbyists, techies, and explorers out there and you are helping change the world.

We want to give personalized shout outs to: Darlene Cavalier, Eli Rabek, Elizabeth Broers, Wayne Grant, Ron Chandler, John Galvin, the Intel Education Accelerator, Glenn Larsen, Jessica Wade, Daphne Chen, Sijay Liu, Marita Beard, Leigh High School Physics Classes, MS&E273 Team, Paul Mitiguy, Jeff Arrigotti, Julie Blumreiter, all of the amazing PocketLab educators including Rich Born, Willy Kjellstrom, Ryan Hollister, Kristen Dorsey, Debi Pfeitzmaier, Derek Tangredi, Jamie Larsen, Killer Snails, Stan Silverman, Ron Hipschman, and Sir Isaac Newton.
