The Araca Project is thrilled to announce the New York premiere of Two Entertainment's [PRESS PLAY], an avant-garde theatrical dance event featuring a score by modern techno/house music producers and a visual experience of live interactive 3D projections that encircle the entire audience. [PRESS PLAY] fuses these two electrifying elements together with innovative contemporary choreography to tell a post-apocalyptic story about the aftermath of World War III and the importance of freedom.

WHO ARE WE?

Let us introduce ourselves, Han Park (left) and RJ Brown (right) here. We are the co-founders of Two Entertainment LLC, a theatrical producing company specializing in non-traditional, site-specific theatre. 

We graduated from the Musical Theatre department at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) in 2012, and bought our one way tickets to New York City to start our theatrical careers. Our passions are with theatrical productions that push the boundaries of the current theatre scene. We are firm believers that theatre is more powerful and effective when the audience members are directly involved in the actions unfolding around them. 

In April, we pitched our first creation, [PRESS PLAY], to the Araca Group and was selected as one of their official selections of the Araca Project. This is our first baby together, and we are pretty psyched about it!

WHAT'S [PRESS PLAY]?

[PRESS PLAY] is first and foremost an avant-garde theatrical dance event. What does this mean? It means that we're taking a dance narrative show and combining it with some pretty experimental and innovative aspects not often seen in a theatrical setting. We've got live 3D projections that transform with the movement of our dancers, techno/house tracks created solely for this production by music producers from all across the world (The furthest one so far is from Germany!), laser beams shooting across the theatre above the audience members, and... well, we can't give everything away now, can we? :)


[PRESS PLAY] is a fictional story set within a video game of a world where a single global government called the New World Order takes over civilization and enslaves them to "better the corrupted world" that existed when people were free and were entitled to basic rights such as liberty and self-determination. The production explores this world surprisingly not so different from our current world. Remember Edward Snowden? Remember the NSA Surveillance Scandal? Oh wait, it's currently happening.

WHERE DO YOU COME IN?

Good question! Although we would love to say, "Just send us some good thoughts and wish us good luck!" (Well, please do that too), we are a bit more in need. Mainly, financial support. We have a very strong and clear vision of what this show should be and of its importance in our current generation, but that vision comes with a pretty hefty price tag.
