Summary

Hi, my name is Alex and I am graduating from university with a bachelors degree in Visual arts. I have worked on Four short films before but only one had a budget. It is a lot harder to make a high quality film when you have no budget, that is why for my first project outside of my studies I want to have a budget to be able to kickstart my career. 

The film follows Dave Williamson, a British gangster that tries his best to help the community. He spends all of his days surrounded by his family in their pub. He tries to control his sons as well as look after the people in his community who need help. There are of course enemies who see his community work as a weakness and want to take advantage.

To compare this project to anything I would say Sopranos gives you the best overall example. It has a lot of comedic scenes but is also drama focused with few small yet powerful action scenes similar to the Godfather. 

What We Need & What You Get

• I am hoping a goal of £3000 can be reached. I have chosen this amount because it is what I have estimated the overall cost will be. With this money it will pay for the pub location, cast, crew and equipment. In the unlikely situation there is spare money left over I will use it to submit the film to festivals as my goal here is to gain some exposure and kickstart my career, not to make a profit. 
• If you contribute to the project you will recieve a credit in the film, an invitation to an online premiere and qna event,  production updates and for higher donators I will give a personal line of contact so we can discuss the film, script and have conversations about what you'd like to see. We will also look at sending posters out to higher donators.

The Impact

• My campaign is valuable because in the film industry it is so hard to be able to source funding for original projects. With this being the case it means chances to get a foot in the door is hard, if this project is funded it means myself and my crew will be able to have the oppertunity to stand out.
• As previously mentioned I have Directed Four films, Two of those films were for my degree. My second Film was a job which was also funded by Durham Constabulary with the goal of promoting cyber saftey, the film is now being shown across the country in schools. Other than the films I have directed I have also worked on Six performing various roles such as Writing and Producing.
