Will the 5 big features be available to everyone on Puca for free?  

Yes. If this campaign succeeds, support for digital cards, condition, non-English, quantity, and mobile will be available at the Common (free) tier of membership on PucaTrade. 

The reality is that we receive a tremendous amount of feature requests for new trading tools and inventory support from members of our community. Whenever we can, we do our best to provide these at no cost to our members. Although we do work tirelessly to maintain and improve the site, there are currently financial bottlenecks that are preventing us from tackling these 5 huge features for the community right now.  The success of this campaign will effectively remove these bottlenecks and allow us to pour the resources necessary into the accomplishment of these goals.

Additionally, this campaign will enable meaningful partnerships with other MTG resources within the Magic Online community, for broader feature capability on PucaTrade and API integration with trusted sources. 

Since its inception, PucaTrade has always been a community-supported project.  At every opportunity, we've always chosen to finance our endeavors with payment structures that are optional to our members.  Your generosity has gotten us where we are today, and will continue to guide us towards a better future. 

Shouldn't all these features cost, like, 1,000 bucks?

Unfortunately no, the reality is that PucaTrade is a highly sophisticated web application that is more like a small city or ecosystem than a simple website.  Magic online is similar in terms of its complexity. Integrating these to ecosystems is an incredible undertaking, but it's one our highly trained development team knows they can execute on.

Know that we have extremely high standards for the features we create; we would never settle for poorly written code or shoddy technology. We’d never risk the security of your personal information to untrained developers who promise more than they can deliver.

The budget we proposed is what it will take to get the job done right. This is why we chose the fixed funding instead of the flexible funding funding option.

Why don’t you go and raise venture capital from an investor? 

The average size of early-stage rounds of seed-funding is $1 million these days.  While the allure of this amount of money is undeniable, we acknowledge that it often comes with a significant loss of control. If this control was yielded to someone who placed profit-motives above our company mission, the result could potentially be disastrous for our community.  

Staying focussed on the needs of the Magic community is paramount to our mission, and we simply haven’t met an investor who intuitively understands that.
