The Philippines is known for its tropical beauty, exotic vibe, country life, flamboyant culture and hospitality. Purveyr believes that these, although definitely worth celebrating, aren’t all. There is more to this country than what tourist catalogues and typical culture magazines say.

We dare to ask: What is there to see beyond the solitude of the coasts; in the spirit and character of the city? Beyond the traditional -- in the modern and contemporary?

Anchored on our three values: to inspire Creativity, to elevate the Culture, and to stimulate the Community; we seek to explore the independent movements, local brands, streetwear culture, cycling communities, Filipino art and anything that has to do with the contemporary trends and lifestyles that the Philippines have and will have. 

Since 2012, Purveyr has been promoting the modern Philippine modern culture through an online platform that brings news under these categories: style, art, design, music, food, culture, retail and travel. But we know better than to settle. 

We visualized the brand taking the next step. This is what the Purveyr Magazine is about: a more tangible and timeless take on our mission and philosophy.

Basically, it’s the same with why we, despite all the e-book readers and digital versions available, still want actual books in our shelves, desks, and palms. Our generation still could not be over the certain feel and aroma that only print can give. Digital just could not replace the satisfaction that swallows one who just finished a page and is now flipping it; and the gush of nostalgia after dusting an old friend off for reference or recollection. It’s that tangible and timeless. 

It may be a struggling medium, but Purveyr believes that print is not dead.

This section highlights personalities who have made their mark in their fields such as Style, Music, Art & Design, Food, and Retail & Travel. As the section title suggests, articles under this category explore the beyond-the-surface stories of the featured personalities; with conversations about their process, lifestyle and everything in between.

Proudrace

We had a conversation with Rik Rasos, ½ of Proudrace, which is a Manila-based streetwear brand that was born out of the urge to be different. After a sort of a roller coaster ride to where they are at present, Proudrace is now one of the more popular independent streetwear brands in the country and abroad. Rik Rasos shared more about the brand – how it started, evolved, and escalated, and the principles that propelled it – and his story plus quirks that add up to it.

Lyrically Deranged Poets

An underground hip hop group composed of three young rappers: Raymond “Abra” Abracosa, RJay Ty, and Alex Omiunu, who are driven by their passion to create music that inspires movement and change. They started out as a group in high school, became a part of the community, and took a break for a while only to come back better and ready for the game that, as they say, has already “evolved”. In this issue, the group shares their story - how they began, what pushed them to do what they do, and the lessons they have learned through the process. 

Valerie Chua

Valerie is a Filipino-Chinese illustrator known for her knack for female aesthetic. However, she strives not to merely feed the idea of perfection-chasing through painting concrete images of women with unattainable beauty; and rather makes her subjects surrounded with instruments of adoration and epitomes of grace and femininity. In a conversation featured in the first issue, Valerie talks about her creative process, sources of inspiration, and aspirations.

Erwan Heussaff

A triathlete, celebrity foodie, and restaurateur known for his health and fitness blog, The Fat Kid Inside, where he shares his “passion for food and life” and inspires a lot of people who want to lead a healthier life. Erwan speaks more about such passion and others in another in-depth discussion.

Titan

Titan is a premier basketball specialty concept store in the Philippines that has, in its own way, shaped Philippine basketball in a way and enkindled the commitment of players and fans to the game. It seeks to provide a different and exclusive experience to its patrons; which explains the barbershop found within the stores. To understand this concept more and look into the passions and stories that led to its creation, Purveyr talked with one of the minds behind it - Raoul Reinoso.

Under this section are short, straightforward yet informative articles on products from local brands that Purveyr believes in.

As what the title suggests, this section recommends places to visit – tells the readers what to expect, what to look up in their digital maps, and where to find them online.

Put On Local

This section encapsulates the style philosophies of influencers through photographing them donned in their favorite local pieces.

Explore

Although Purveyr focuses on the character of the metro, we still want to explore the country’s frontiers with a modern eye. Besides, who doesn’t need some break from the city’s hustle once in a while?

The Report

The Report is a collection of short editorials on modern concepts and trends. Topics highlighted in this issue are: specialty coffee, fixed gear, and electronic music.

Visual Corner

In this section, Purveyr leads readers into the appreciation of visual art via featuring artists creating through different art forms, plus some of their works. For this issue, we have Egg Fiasco for street art and Jelito de Leon for photography.
