Why Quarter Century was created:
Think back to when you were 22 – 28. At that age, did you think you had life figured out? If you are currently in that age group, do you think you pretty much have it all together? Most likely you don’t, but you’re trying to get there. Right after college you’re forced into this “young professional world.” If you have a job after you get you’re degree, you’re parents no longer want to assist you. If you don’t, most likely you have to continue to live with your parents until you find an occupation in this economy. You maybe matriculated in a major that wasn’t truly your dream. Or you did, but now your family is forcing you to hurry and “get married and have children.” And as soon as you cross the stage, Sallie Mae is knocking on your door step. Nevertheless, you go into a gray area that nobody really talks about. Society and the media shows people in their 30s and 40s with their houses, families, cars, careers, and lives that are settled. The media also shows you college students and teens that are still spoon fed by society with no real worries in the world. However, nobody discusses OUR group as we all try to find ourselves and gain the American dream. Quarter Century was created to tell the young adult’s story. The web series is not to provide a light at the end of the tunnel, but to showcase in a comedic way the problems that young adults face while enduring the quarter life crisis and trying to achieve a piece of the American Dream.
Logline:
College graduates dropped into the young professional world are trying to figure out life and all its inner workings before hitting the delicate age of 30 when society claims that you should have your "shit" together.
Mission:
The mission of a Quarter Century is to provide an alternative source of entertainment to showcase positive images of African American culture, generate a new medium for promoting African American businesses, and illuminate the quarter life crisis that young professionals and post graduates endure as they approach the age of 30.
Vision:
Quarter Century’s vision is to be recognized as a platform for African American media, fashion, and entrepreneurship and be an innovative force in the creation of opportunities for African Americans in the film and entertainment industry.
