Once there was a rabbit....
About 10 years ago, there was a rabbit made. It connected to wifi, it told you when you had mail and read you the title. It could tell you the weather and read you a bedtime story. 10 years ago, that was pretty cool. Alas, this rabbit is no more. The services were shutdown and it lost its voice
It does, however, live on. A few Rabbit owners have managed to breath some life back into their pet, with some offering how-to's, code releases and operating systems.
I, myself, have a rabbit that can answer question when i ask it. (see the picture, that's mine)
But, for me it is not enough. I want more rabbits. I want too see these rabbits brought back to life, smarter, cuter (if that's possible) and funnier.
How are you going to do this?
I hear you ask. Good question. And that is why i am here.
Gather round...
I am able to get this rabbit re-designed and built. I am able to get all the gubbins you'd expect from this sort of device (apps made, websites and probably even an Instagram account).
But...
I want to make sure this these rabbits get the fitting rebirth they desevere
Here is the plan
The funds raised will go to build a small batch of concept rabbits. These pioneer rabbits will have the heart of a Raspberry PI along with a software development kit and extra peripherals such as an NFC and LEDs . It will allow those who have ideas and the know-how to develop their own contribution and show off what these rabbit can do. Whether its enabling the rabbit to turn on your house lights to showing off a light display to music, at the moment, the list of what it can do is huge.
Here at Rabbit HQ, these contributions will be brought together and a new rabbit, worthy of its original conception, will be made.
So, I need some fancy coding to contribute?
Nope.
This is a communal project. Ideas will be shared through a fancy website. If you have an idea, then they will be more than welcome.
How do i get my hands on one of these pioneer rabbits?

Pioneer Rab-bits will be sent out to those who wish to apply for one. There will be a criteria for application, mostly a promise that those who receive one will be able to contribute
What if no ones likes rabbits?
Of course everyone loves rabbits, except maybe those allergic to the real ones.
Seriously though, i would love this project to get off the ground. There are a number of people out there already who have made their original rabbit come alive again. I would also love the plan that these ideas can be brought together to make new rabbit that has a bit of everyone in it.
Maybe there aren't enough people out there, i could have gauged this all wrong.
