Our Story

In April of 2011, co-founders, Lindsey Larkin and Ryan Sprague created Loaf Theatre Company. Their goal was to contribute a fresh new take on the Off-Off Broadway movement and bring new theatre to a hungry and eager audience. Around the same time as their inception, Ryan's play, Reach, was chosen to be produced by Manhattan Repertory Theatre in their 2012 Winter Festival of New Plays. Grabbing the opportunity by the horns, Ryan and Lindsey decided to co-produce the show in association with Manhattan Rep. In February, the play will premiere on 42nd street, marking the debut of Loaf Theatre, and the beginning of a growing company with the passion, talent, and resources to make GREAT theatre.

Mission

Loaf Theatre is a New York City based company committed to producing new plays by both emerging and seasoned playwrights, both published and unpublished. We are looking for an emphasis on forward thinking issues, though we are very open minded when it comes to content. So if you feel you have something that interests us, please don't hesitate to contact us. We know how challenging this business can be for young actors, directors, designers, and writers, and that is exactly why this company was created. We hope to grow and we hope to entertain, but most importantly, we hope to create.

What We Need & What You Get

We have set a goal of $500 for this specific production with Loaf Theatre Company. With this amount, we strongly feel that we can purchase the props we need, the set pieces we hope to design. But most importantly, your contributions will be used to help pay for our audition space, rehearsal space rental, and various printing costs. Example: Scripts, Programs, Postcards. Every penny will be used to make this production come to life. And for some ungodly reason, if there is money left over, it will be put directly in to our next production at Loaf Theatre Company. You will be notified if this happens to be the case. Lindsey and Ryan also plan on having a fundraiser in early February in midtown Manhattan. For more information about this event, you can contact the company at Loaftheatrecompany@gmail.com.

Perks for your Donations

For your contributions, you will be rewarded! Perks include such things as being credited in our production program, receiving signed programs, free tickets to our production and/or season, and an honorary spot on our Company Members section of our website. The higher your donation, the better the perks! The perks are the way we thank you for your generous donations. But the best perk is knowing you helped our dreams come to fruition
