About Red Letter Jesus

Red Letter Jesus is a deeply moving new show of Jesus' words from the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) performed with an original multimedia presentation, including stunning videography captured throughout Israel and Jordan. 

The show will star Atlanta-based actor Brad Sherrill who devotes eight months of the year to the ongoing U.S. tour of his faith-based theater work. Red Letter Jesus is Sherrill's third live theatrical offering based on biblical texts. He has performed The Gospel of John over 600 times, including a run off-Broadway. Sherrill also recently premiered his original adaptation of Prophets, based on the texts of Isaiah and Jeremiah, at Georgia Shakespeare (Atlanta, 2010).

In 2011 and 2013, Sherrill and his videographer/designer Mark Hickman traveled to Israel and Jordan to gather multimedia for Red Letter Jesus.  The majority of the multimedia for the performance consists of original images and video footage, which Hickman gathered in Israel, the West Bank and Jordan during these time periods.

Hickman’s visual imagery and soundscape is designed not merely to draw us into the era and the geography surrounding Jesus’ ministry, but also to convey some of the Gospel stories which the red letters alone cannot communicate.
