THE FLESH
Redwood is a dramatic vampire genre web series created by me, Alisha Peats, and co-produced by Jasmine Hester and Jeff Torres. We released season 1 back in 2013, won a couple awards, and advertised it as much as our meager pockets could afford. Redwood is a passion project. I've always been a fan of vampire shows. I grew up watching Buffy and Angel, then became a fan of The Vampire Diaries, and even enjoyed Twilight (it has its flaws, but it's a FUN series!) I was pretty immersed in all these genre shows and movies when I decided to start writing a web series, so naturally, a vampire show was what came out of my brain. I went with it.

But I'm also a huge fan of relatable, gritty real life dramas. I loved Winter's Bone. American Beauty. Ordinary People is my favorite film of all time. I was also watching (rather, obsessed with) Breaking Bad the whole time I was writing S2 of Redwood. So these kinds of stories flavored the way Redwood unfolded. I've always appreciated genre shows that delve into the human elements, make characters relatable, mix humor with heartbreak, and give every character (no matter how "big" or "small") a distinct voice and purpose. So I've infused all of this into S2 of Redwood.
We also have a pretty awesome cast assembled for this season. Amy Paffrath (the host of VH1's "Dating Naked") will be playing a werewolf at the start of the season.

And James Kyson (from NBC's "Heroes") is signed on to play Kohl, a vampire who will be introduced in episode 8.

We also have Brian Borello (Ringer, Dark Desire) playing the ever-so-charming vampire Max. Jeff Torres (Hungover Games, The Crumbles) will be playing a werewolf pack leader named Ronan, and Christopher Wolfe (Sharknado, Parks & Rec) will be playing a powerful vampire that will be introduced in the finale episode!

THE BONES
This campaign is to raise finishing funds for episodes 1-5 of Season 2. We had a flexible funding campaign on (another site) that allowed us to start filming season 2 back in February. Now we need to raise $7458 to FINISH the first 5 episodes so we can finally RELEASE them for you guys to see. We have crunched numbers until our brains exploded (well not literally, but it felt like it at times) and we have considered and accounted for every single money saving opportunity to minimize the amount it would cost to finish these episodes. Our base goal covers production with a skeleton crew, post production, Indiegogo fees and the costs of shipping and manufacturing your rewards. Here's a pie chart to show where everything goes.

And we're doing something pretty fun with this campaign. Every time we reach a thousand dollar milestone, we will be making a NEW PRANK VIDEO for you guys. If you haven't seen our past prank videos, here's some pics to give you an idea.

If we reach our base goal before our 30 days are up, we will then go for stretch goals that will allow us to film ADDITIONAL episodes. We have fourteen episodes written and $20,319 would be needed to complete the full season. We're taking it one step at time. Here's some of our stretch goals for this campaign and the cool perks that will be added if we reach certain milestones.

THE HEART
Redwood is different from the majority of web series out there. It’s not about actors trying to make it in LA, it’s not about gamer geeks holed up in their dark apartments, it’s not about talking fruit. Nothing against shows that are about any of those things, many of them are actually extremely entertaining and well done, but those shows can be made on tiny micro budgets.
Redwood is aiming to tell a story on a larger scale – we have choreographed fight sequences, sleek camera work and lighting, and locations that require us to travel outside of LA. Now, we could make a show about gamer geeks trying to make it as actors in LA while being mentored by talking fruit (actually, that sounds like a
fun concept!) but we’d rather bring you an edgy genre story that fuses heart-wrenching drama with bites of humor, showcases great actors portraying complicated characters, and entertains you with fun action sequences and relatably awkward romance. Oh, and there’s some fangs and blood in there, too!
And for those of you who like to see women kicking ass in film, Redwood has plenty to offer. Redwood is written by a woman, has two woman producers (both of whom won producing awards at LA Web Fest 2013 for Redwood), and spotlights female characters who are strong, intelligent and capable of handling their own s***.

THE BLOOD
Don't have a dollar to pledge to Redwood? Well, luckily there's a lot of other ways you can help get Redwood made. Here's a list:
• SHARE SHARE SHARE the campaign page. Sharing the campaign page not only gets us seen by your friends and social networks, it also boosts our popularity ratings in the Indiegogo algorithm. The more shares we get, the more visible we are HERE ON INDIEGOGO. That's a big deal!
• Make a short video letting the world know how much you love Redwood, how stoked you are for Season 2, and how they should be stoked, too! We'll post it here, and also share it with our social networks. Your verbal endorsement of Redwood could be just the thing that convinces ten other people to pledge and share.
• Do you have a skill or service that you think others might find useful or pledge-worthy? Perhaps you're a painter. You could paint a piece of Redwood inspired art and we could offer it as a reward. Email us at redwoodtheseries@gmail.com if you're interested in offering a skill or service as a reward here on our Indiegogo.
• Do you (or someone you know) have a podcast, blog, vlog, magazine, newspaper, catalog, or YouTube talk show? We are always looking for opportunities to help get the word out about Redwood and our fundraising efforts. Contact us at redwoodtheseries@gmail.com if you believe you could aid us on that front.
• And lastly, you can be a Redwood poster child by updating your social network cover, banner, and profile photos with the two images below! This is one of the easiest ways to help us get the word out about Redwood and our campaign.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Redwood. As we say in our video, Redwood has always been a fan funded series. We really would cease to exist without you. So thank you! Now let's band together and #GreenlightRedwoodS2!
