Summary
This year we celebrate the 545th anniversary of the
Lipnic Battle, where Ștefan cel Mare, the illustrious ruler of Moldova,
defeated the Tatar invaders. This is the only battle of Ștefan cel Mare that
took place on the territory
which is today part of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the tradition, the battle began from
Fântâna Cadânei ("The Well of the
Odalisque"). The legend says that the name of the well comes from a
beautiful girl who, being chased by a Turk seeking to take her to his harem,
jumped into a well located near Lipnic.
The well dates back before the Lipnic Battle (thus, it
is at least from the XV century). It was rebuilt several times, while in 1970
it received the status of protected monument. The most recent renovation of the
well took place in 1989.
Since Fântâna Cadânei is currently in a deplorable
condition, we decided to restore it.

The draft project for the rehabilitation of Fântâna Cadânei and of the neighbouring area was
initially submitted for the discussions with the Nationa Council of Historic
Monuments at the end of May 2014. At that moment, the Council reverted
with certain recommendations in order to observe the authenticity requirements
of the site. We took these recommendations into consideration, so that in July
2014, the project in an adjusted form was re-submitted with the Council receiving
the approval (the approval document of 14 July 2014 is available on this page).

The Impact
The project aims to:

create a unique historical place that
brings closer to the people the spirit of the place and the values of the
country.
·
arrange a historical landscape by
restoring the existing well according to the authenticity requirements..
·
promote the well as part of the touristic
route of the area, which also includes, amongst others, windmills, watermills,
wooden churches, boyar mansions, house museums and natural landscapes..
·
give an example of rehabilitation of
monuments, as the monuments in the Republic of Moldova are in a continuous
degradation.
·
offer the possibility for the community
to get involved.
·
sensitize the public with respect to the
problem of degradation of protected monuments.

What We Need
The total value of the project is estimated not
to exceed EUR 5000. A part of this amount (USD 4000) is collected through this
platform. You may also contribute by transferring the amounts to the bank accounts mentioned at the bottom of this text.
In any case, the project is the type of
initiative that, beyond financial contribution, requires active implication of
different people in the effective implementation thereof..
Both the financial contribution that the
project needs and active involvement of different people are strong success
factors that will ensure the continuity of this project and hopefully will have
effects upon our society.

Rezumat
În acest an, aniversăm 545 de ani de la
bătălia de la Lipnic, unde Ștefan cel Mare, ilustrul domnitor al Moldovei, i-a
înfrânt pe invadatorii tătari. Este singura bătălie a lui Ștefan cel Mare care
a avut loc pe teritoriul actual al Republicii Moldova.
Potrivit tradiției, lupta a început de la
Fântâna Cadânei. Legenda spune că numele fântânei vine de la o fată frumoasă
care, fiind urmărită de un turc ce încerca s-o ducă în haremul său, a sărit
într-o fântână de lângă Lipnic.
Fântâna datează încă dinaintea bătăliei de
la Lipnic (fiind, astfel, cel puțin din secolul XV). A fost reconstruită de
câteva ori, iar în 1970 capătă statutul de monument protejat. Ultima renovare a
fântânii s-a realizat în 1989.
Având în vedere că Fântâna Cadânei este în
prezent într-o stare deplorabilă, am decis s-o restaurăm.
Schița de proiect pentru reabilitarea Fântânii Cadânei și a
zonei adiacente a fost inițial supusă dezbaterii Consiliul Național al
Monumentelor Istorice la sfârșitul lunii mai 2014. La acel moment, Consiliul a
venit cu anumite recomandări pentru a se respecta cerințele de autenticitate
ale amplasamentului. Am ținut cont de aceste recomandări, astfel că în iulie
2014, proiectul în forma ajustată a fost redepus la Consiliu, primind avizul
pozitiv (fișa de avizare din 14 iulie 2014 este disponibilă pe această pagină).
Impactul
Proiectul urmărește:

să
creeze o destinație istorică unică în măsură să aducă mai aproape spiritul
locului și valorile naționale.
·
să
restaureze fântâna existentă potrivit cerințelor de autenticitate.
·
să
promoveze fântâna ca parte a circuitului turistic în zonă, care de asemenea
include, printre altele, mori de vânt, mori de apă, biserici din lemn, conace
boierești, case-muzeu și peisaje naturale.
·
să
dea un exemplu de reabilitare a monumentelor, având în vedere că monumentele în
Republica Moldova sunt într-o stare de permanentă degradare.
·
să
ofere posibilitatea comunității de a se implica.
·
să
sensibilizeze publicul cu privire la problema degradării monumentelor
protejate.
De ce avem nevoie
Estimarea este că valoarea totală a proiectului nu va
depăşi 5000 de euro. O parte din aceşti bani (4000 dolari) sunt colectaţi prin
intermediul acestei platforme. De asemenea, puteţi contribui virând
banii direct în conturile bancare indicate la sfârşitul acestui text.
În orice caz, proiectul este o inițiativă
care, pe lângă contribuția financiară, necesită o implicare activă în vederea
implementării acesteia.
Atât contribuția financiară de care este

acestui proiect și, sperăm, vor avea un impact social.
