The Sum Up.

Here's the quick and dirty of it:

Ride The Rocket started out as nothing more than a very real, very strange time in actor/writer Robin Hebb's life.

As a way to digest what happened to her, she wrote two short stories (Ride the Rocket, Pt 1 & Ride the Rocket, Pt 2). 

A few weeks later director Tommy Marshall came across the stories.

Tommy was looking for a film to make and Robin was game to create. 

Tommy assembled a top-notch team (see below) of friends and collaborators and thanks to producer Aaron Hanek, three weeks after an initial production meeting the cameras were rolling.

How The Heck Did We Get This Far?!?

We were able to shoot the film for $976.80, due to us being thrifty little kitties and also from the help of some really great companies. 

We were lucky enough to have all the gear we needed, lent to us by Sim Camera, and the kind folks at Pilot Coffee let us shoot in their flagship store for no cost (so, drink Pilot coffee- they RULE!).

Our only initial costs were for insurance, transportation, and snacks.

The Impact.

Ride The Rocket is the culmination of many hours of hard work from a team of some of the brightest up and coming filmmakers and storytellers in Toronto. The funds from this campaign will be going directly into the project- allowing us to put the final touches on a labour of love, and giving it the added edge to really be able to properly showcase the talents of our cast and crew. 

Ride The Rocket is going to be used as a launching pad for the members of our team- think of it as a very impressive resume. Instead of telling people how skilled we are in our chosen department- whether it be art direction, sound recording, cinematography, directing, acting or writing- we will be able to use our finished film as a showcase. 

You will be directly supporting emerging artists who take their craft seriously. 

What We Need And Why!

We are in need of $3000 to help us finish our movie, Ride The Rocket.

The funds will be going towards having the film professionally colour corrected, sound mixed, as well as paying for the submission fees for select film festivals. 

• The Colour Correction: The raw footage from the camera is flat and dull in colour. Correcting a film's colour not only enhances the cinematography expertly shot by Nick Tiringer but also brings to life the hard work our art director Olivia D'Oliveira as well as making it a more beautiful visual experience for the audience. 
• The Audio Mixing: This is the process where multiple sounds are combined into one or more channels (the volume level, frequency content, dynamics, and music) and is done in order to produce a finished version that is appealing to listeners- it'll bring to the life the dialogue and as well as be a key part in telling the story clearly. 
• The Submission Fees: Submission fees vary for each festival, anywhere from $20-$60, and that really begins to add up. Submitting the film and having it seen by experts in the industry will be a huge opportunity for our team of emerging artists. 

We want to put our best foot forward when submitting our film and these finishing touches are going to be crucial in helping our film succeed.
