Hey bicyclists, we have developed a smart AI rear camera with continuous video feedback of what is going on behind you. It warns you of potential hazards in your blind spots via highlights on the monitor and with audible warnings as well.
We are different from other products on the market because we are using AI technology to help identify and warn of potential hazards like vehicles and pedestrians. It's called RideSafe AI Cam and we invite you to learn more about it. We would love your support of our campaign to help us bring this beneficial new product to market.
Why we are developing this product
In the United States in 2021, there were:
- 1,230 bicyclist deaths
- Over 41,000 bicycle injuries
- The cost of these injuries and deaths exceed $23 billion each year
RideSafe has a new patent pending product technology that will help reduce crashes, injury, and death while riding a bicycle.
The product is called RideSafe AI Cam.
What is RideSafe AI Cam?
It’s a new patent pending product technology. It includes a monitor and a camera on the back of the bicycle. There is a constant video feed on the monitor while riding your bike which also incorporates blind spot motion detection technology powered by AI. The AI camera technology gives notifications of potential hazards in your blind spots through screen highlights and sound alerts while you ride your bicycle or e-bike. There is a DVR recorder in the monitor that can record your rides via a MicroSD card.
RideSafe Cam is easy and simple to install and can be done in around two minutes. The monitor is easily detachable so you can take it with you when your bike is left unattended in public spaces or if the battery needs to be charged.

Here is an example of our early Beta product. The final version will likely be a bit different but many of the items will be the same or similar. The main components include:
- 4.3" (11 cm) color monitor
- Battery life of monitor is 5 hours
- AI rear camera with 110 degree viewing angle
- DVR video recording via MicroSD card in monitor

Potential Risks and Challenges
We are working hard to make RideSafe Cam ready for this Indiegogo campaign. We have a team of testers who are currently testing the early version of the product. They will be giving critical feedback on the product that we will incorporate into the final design.
We believe we will be able to produce a high quality product that will deliver our desired functionality. However, there are some potential risks and here is how we plan to address them if they arise.
Product Manufacturing and Fulfillment:
- We have an early version of the product that is being tested now with our testing team.
- Our manufacturing partner has a depth of experience with similar technologies and has a long history of developing high quality products.
- This being said, there still can be delays in manufacturing as we work to develop a product that delivers the quality and functionality we expect.
- We will keep all our funders regularly informed of production milestones and potential challenges. We will be working hard to ensure we deliver our product to you on time.
