Short Summary
Room For Hope, a Palestinian cultural festival held at San Francisco State University September 26-28, is in need of funding to meet the growing expenses that are being encountered. Contributing to this campaign will help the festival reach its goal of spreading the word about an important element of many Palestinians lives, the creative drive that fuels creation of art, music, film, dance and entrepreneurialism.

Bright Stars of Bethlehem- Bright Stars of Bethlehem is a non-profit organization founded in 2003 that aims at promoting peace and harmony in the Middle East by providing Palestinians support through health, education, cultural and spiritual development.
GUPS- General Union of Palestine Students (GUPS), of San Francisco State University, is a non-profit, student-run organization, that has been part of the San Francisco Bay Area for over four decades. Established in the 1920s, when the Palestinian struggle began.
The Palestinian student movement was one of the first national Palestinian institutions to be formed. GUPS has played a crucial role both in the Middle East and worldwide in increasing awareness of the Palestinian struggle.
GUPS is dedicated to political and cultural awareness of Palestinian and Arab culture within the San Francisco Bay Area community. GUPS also increases awareness of the Palestinian struggle for liberation and justice.
What We Need & What You Get
Operational expenses, including venue rental fees, security, production and technical services, custodial services, travel and accommodations for participants. The $6,250 in contributions will be used to pay for the aforementioned expenses and ensure that the festival goes smoothly. If the goal is not reached, the show will still go on, but other areas (such as promotion) may be inadequately funded.
Perks are rewarded at several increments of contributions given. Examples include tickets, all access passes, and even corporate sponsorship packages at the highest level contribution!
The Impact
This eclectic festival will be held at San Francisco State University from September 26th through September 28th, 2013. To enrich participants’ experience of Palestinian culture, Room for Hope incorporates multiple educational forms including dance performance, film screenings, entrepreneurial presentations, workshops and music. Room For Hope shines a light on Palestinian creativity and will help give the audience a better understanding and broader view of the Palestinian people.
