Ruddy Productions is excited to present ‘Orion’ a new full-length play written by company member Matthew McLachlan. A fully staged, Off-Off-Broadway production is what Ruddy has been building towards since 2014.
Over the past 3 years Ruddy has produced numerous staged readings, two new works festivals (which produced over 20 original short plays), and developed and produced its first full-length play: Ben Holbrook’s 'Sinners on a Southbound Bus' (2016 NYC Fringe Festival and FringeFAVE).
Ruddy also runs a weekly artist’s gym - a free workshop where emerging NYC actors, writers and directors can come to practice and refine their craft and develop original material for Ruddy to produce.
We have worked constantly to build a solid foundation for ourselves and now it’s time to take a giant leap forward for our company, our artists and our community.
Ruddy has a professional and talented team of artists collaborating on ‘Orion’. We believe in creating first-rate work and giving our audience the productions they deserve, which is why we need your help…

Orion examines those love relationships that end, but never really leave us. Some wounds fade with time, but others don’t - so how do we move on and live life with open wounds? Can we still cherish the good times we had without letting them destroy us?
This play IS happening no matter the outcome of this campaign. However, it is up to you to help bring this vision to life in the way we have all imagined.
