Running is the drive for Michael’s life, without it his world stops.

Michael is almost at the top of his game, about to start training for team GB; he feels that his life ambitions are fulfilled when disaster strikes. A road accident leaves him paralysed from the waist down. As he struggles to adapt, its not clear whether he will emerge to overcome a shattered dream.

Runner is a heartfelt story of one man’s fight for the thing that he enjoys most. Exploring the personal difficulties to overcome the physical obstacles that complicate making a dream become reality.

Interest for sports in the United Kingdom has risen greatly since the 2012 London Olympics and a major player within that was the success of the Paralympics. Ability via disability was excellently showcased and broadcast to millions during this period, a greater public acknowledgement and interest was generated from this. Its this passion for sport we've harnessed and hope to explore what happens when all seems lost and the odds stacked against our character.

We have a great story and a great crew, but with your generous contribution, we hope to make it look as good as it sounds. We all believe in the project and certainly see the potential of this film to take it around the festival circuit.

As with any film there are costs involved. Our aim is to achieve as much as possible for as little as possible without loosing out on story or aesthetics. The charts below provide the information on how funds will be distributed across different departments.

We have chosen the flexible funding campaign so if we don't reach our required funds we will still make the film based on the funds we have received. Obviously we would love to reach our target so keeping sharing and contribute if you can, its appreciated wholeheartedly.

                                                       Equipment Hire

This is where the largest segment of funding will go, hiring high quality kit in order to achieve that crisp aesthetic look. It’s important we meet this target as its such a large player in the overall piece. We shall be also using a lot of our own kit or other equipment we have access to, but your generosity will give us the means to gain the appropriate industry tools to achieve the highest standards.

For those ‘tech heads’ we are hoping to hire and shoot with a Sony F3/Ki Pro Zeiss ZF Distagon DSLR Prime Kit or a ZEISS DigiPrime HD Prime Set T1.6 with the Panasonic AG-HPX371. A Matthews Round-D Dolly and track (or equivalent) will also be hired to gain some flawlessly smooth camera movement.

                                                                Travel

With your help we can get from A to B easily. We are hoping to keep the costs down as much as possible by hiring an 18 seater minibus that will transport the cast, crew and equipment from location to location. This will be far more economical than running 4 or 5 cars. We have about 6 locations to achieve in 4 days so lots of travelling!

                                                       Costume/Make-up

Although our costumes will be relatively simple, as its set in the present day and clothing will be easier to source, it’s still an integral element of the overall picture. The make-up will also be very important, creating facial wounds and bruising both fresh and healing will be required to show Michael’s accident injuries.

                                                                Catering

Feeding the cast and crew is incredibly important! This keeps everyone on the ball and raring to go. We hope to provide lunch and dinner to everyone involved - we shall be out in various locations both interior and exterior so warm meals keeps everyone happy. This is a department NOT to be overlooked.

Aside from the below core crew, we will also be working with a variety of other individuals, filling roles like Assistant Camera, Gaffer, Sound, Stills Photographer and many more. They are all specialists in their field and have produced some incredibly high standard work.

Your donation is not only helping us produce a high quality professional short film but it is also helping a group of filmmakers achieve a piece of work that we can all be  proud of and one that you can say "I helped make that happen!". We are always striving to be ambitious and to produce the best material possible but we can only do it with your help, and the more help we get the better and higher standard the final result will be.

                                                         WHAT ELSE?

We are aware and understand that not everyone can contribute towards the film but you can help by spreading the word of the “Runner” Indegogo campaign. Tell your friends, your family, the next door neighbour, your cat. By sharing the campaign link on social media you will increase the amount of people that see what we are hoping to achieve and help us reach our goal.

We promise to keep you up to date with developments, informing you of our casting choices, locations, costume progress and further behind the scenes work. We are all extremely committed and excited for this project, so lets make it happen!
