I was sitting here in my pricey New York City apartment a few months ago and got to thinking about the people I have met over the years and what they, and we all have in common ... and that is when it hit me.
FEAR.
We all have fears and for some reason, we have allowed fear to co-opt our lives. That ends now.
This book, Running From Yourself: Transforming Fear Into Courage, is a testament to those who have defeated fear and paved the way for you.
Why IndieGoGo?
Because I believe in this project so much, I want to tour the country to share this message. I want to go to coffee shops, schools, churches, LGBT groups, professional organizations, and your local street corner, to share what I have learned about fear. We can beat it, but I need your help.
What Your Support Goes To:
Your funds will be used primarily to secure travel (I'm frugal!) to as many cities on this tour as possible. By funding this project, you will allow me to offer (FOR FREE), my experience in each and every city on this tour. Plus, you get some great goodies too! Along the way, I want to also create a video capturing guests talking about their fears and their plan to live outside of them.
The cities on my list include, but aren't limited to:
Boston, Des Moines, Minneapolis, San Diego, San Francisco, Austin, Nashville, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Kansas City, St. Louis, Denver, Phoenix, and Charleston!
This can be a life-changing journey and experience for a lot of people, but I need your help.
Please contact me with any questions and I hope to see you on the road!
About Me
I have worked in the non-profit and marketing agency world which has given me a wide range of experiences both in business and in life. I currently live in New York City, where I operate my training and coaching company. I worked for the United States Tennis Association in various capacities at the local and national level, as well as Vaynermedia and Affinitive, two digital media agencies based in New York City. Each experience was focused on story-telling for the business and clients, a passion I keep.
My interest in politics began in 1998 and culminated with my run for mayor of Mason City, Iowa, in the fall and winter of 2002-03. I placed third, but deemed the campaign a success not only for final electoral result (third out of ten), but also for the conversations that were created.
I hold a degree in public relations from the University of Northern Iowa and have written two books, Anything is Possible and In Pain.

Risks and challenges
Any project has risks, but the only risks this project has are as follows:
-Book production delays
-Flight delays
-Illness
But due to our scheduling, we should be able to make everything and get them delivered on time.
