What is Bad Ship?
The Astonushing Adventures of the S.S. Bad Ship is an actual play TTRPG podcast that will follow the crew of the titular ship as they hop planet from planet and job to job, stumbling their way through the galaxy. Using the Scum and Villainy from Evil Hat, the cast and GM will make a homebrewed Galaxy for the cast to play in.
Heavily inspired by old-school Saturday morning cartoons, anime, and campy sci-fi, Bad Ship is a comedic non-linear adventure. Each episode will range from 30-45 minutes in length and the show will release weekly. In between each arc, which is on average four to six episodes, the show will take a three-week break before releasing the next arc. This campaign is to help raise money for the upcoming launch of this show that we hope to begin releasing in 2024.

The Impact
With your help, we can make a high-quality actual play series with original music, art, and tons more to make this one of the best Scum & Villainy shows out there:
- Help launch one of the newest projects for the Do You Validate network.
- This is a brand new cast that Joel Ruiz will be working with and you can help make sure they get cast pay from the start.
- We'll be able to focus on telling a compelling, funny story without having to sacrifice quality or time to make the show.
Risks & Challenges
This campaign faces very few risks and challenges. Joel Ruiz is a seasoned editor and producer that has completed one full actual play campaign, Critical Bits, and has been producing another one successfully for the past year, Oddity Roadshow.
Alongside the expertise of Joel, the cast has all been performing in different avenues for years. April and Samm have both been featured on numerous TTRPG streams, Derick has been a stand-up comic and produced shows, and Caleb is a long-time author and recently created the hit TTRPG system Triangle Agency.
Our biggest possible challenge is a delayed start due to insufficient funding or scheduling issues. Don't worry, though! We'll be making it either way!
