THE DREAM

I have a dream!  I suggest that we work out a deal, where for a very small amount of money, you can experience my proposed AROUND THE WORLD adventure with me. I have already made a $5,800 deposit to reserve a balcony cabin on the Pacific Princess that will embark on a 111-day voyage completely around the globe starting on January 23, 2015. It's truly a round-trip leaving from and returning to Los Angeles. The base cost for such a trip, is $32,000 per person based on double occupancy but since I travel alone, the cost is twice the per person rate!  This trip will cost me $64,000!  I'm willing to come up with my share of $32,000 but $64,000 would wipe out a giant portion of my retirement and that would be a bad decision.

It will truly be the trip of my lifetime and an incredible photographic adventure. And for those of you who would ever contemplate such a trip, this may prove to be a very valuable editorial - helping you decide if such a trip is worth it. I promise to document this trip as if I were making a real documentary, where there are no pre-set conclusions.

Please note that If this plan fails, I will have to cancel this trip and scratch off this one and only item from my bucket list.  I have until June 1, 2014 to cancel and get my deposit back.  I really can't do this without help. That's why I have made this an all or nothing campaign.

WHO AM I?

I have been a professional film/video maker all my life.  While I didn't grow up to be Steven Speilberg, I have made my entire living shooting and editing for the non-broadcast industrial corporate world.  The neat thing about that is that I get to do everything, not just light or shoot or whatever.  I've worked in Hollywood and Orange County, CA for production houses, a non-profit, for a fire department and for aerospace.  And finally I've had my own business, DV Post since 1999.  (www.dvpostvideo.com)  I should be retired at my age, but I still loving doing this kind of work.  I'd love to share this "professionally made" trip around the world with you.

THE PERKS

In exchange for your contribution, I will share my experience with you. Every contributor of at least $1 will get daily e-mails via the Indiegogo site. Those contributing $25 will get a narrated video on a standard DVD containing photos and videos of my trip. The video will be feature length - spending about three minutes at each of the 34 ports along the way. For $50 you will get a Blu-Ray. For $100 you will receive a thank you credit in the video production and your choice of a DVD or a Blu-Ray.

COME ON!

So, what do you say? Why not vicariously join me in this incredible journey? I will keep you informed with a journal entry every day. You will not only have lots of photos and a 90-minute DVD, you will have my extreme gratitude for making a big dream of mine come true.

AND JUST FOR FUN...

If you want to see more of me, check out the gallery.  You will find my "Pity Plea," which was made for those who need to feel sorry before they can contribute,  and a very short humorous clip which explains why I used a teleprompter this time.  There are also some samples of travel videos.
