Story
Sally Face is a boy with blue pigtails, a prosthetic face and a mysterious past. Guide him on weird adventures through high school and beyond; dealing with the many oddities and hardships in his life.
In the first episode, Strange Neighbors, Sally Face and his father move into a new apartment filled with odd tenants and an unfortunate crime scene. This episode will set the stage for an even greater mystery - but you'll have to play the episode to learn more!
Gameplay
In this story-driven adventure game, players will interact with Sal's world, the people he meets and even delve into his nightmares. The main path typically requires casual effort, with mostly straightforward puzzles. However, there are hidden surprises to be found and bonus mysteries that may invoke a bit of head-scratching for those players up to the challenge.
The game is broken up into Episodes. Each episode is kept fairly short (typically under an hour) to essentially parallel a dark cartoon series that would air on TV. There are a total of five episodes planned for the final version of Sally Face.
Players can choose between Keyboard or Controller (Xbox 360) options for preferred control method.
Reception
"I can't wait for episode 2! Holy sh*t!" RiskRim
"Haven't played a game that good in a while!" TheRPGMinx
"I sincerely enjoy this game & cannot wait for more!" Oringes
"Beautiful, Funny & Freaky. Highly recommended." FGP

Progress
Currently, Episode One: Strange Neighbors is finished and Episode Two: The Wretched (previously named "The Treacherous") is in preproduction. Which means I'm finalizing the level design, dialog and overall script. Additionally, I'm also working on a Steam version and implementing translations for the game.
Sally Face is being developed as a solo, side-project by Steve Gabry (me); where I work on the game in my free time. I'm running this fundraising campaign with hopes of allowing for more dedicated/uninterrupted focus on development and to help get the episodes to you quicker.

This funding is needed for Sally Face to be completed as the original vision of a five episode narrative arc. With the funds to focus on development full time, instead of only a few hours a week, it would greatly benefit the production of the game and also aid in getting episodes out much sooner. Without funding, it is also likely that the five episode structure will need to be shortened a good bit. With your help, we can allow Sally Face shine in it's full, creepy glory.
The following is a description of how the funds will be used.

DETAILS
Development: Creating all of the elements that form a final game, such as artwork, animations, music, sound effects, dialog, story, game design and level construction.
Fees: Indiegogo and payment processing fees.
Safety Net: Sometimes unforeseen costs may arise, planning for a little extra helps avoid unfortunate surprises. If not needed then this will be used for development.
Rewards: Fulfilling all of the backer rewards, physical goods and shipping costs.

Why are you making the game in episodes?
There are a couple of reasons why I chose to develop the game in episodes. The original idea for Sally Face was conceived in 2007 and started off as a cartoon series. Later on, when I decided to revisit the concept, I knew I wanted to make an adventure game and thought that I would keep the cartoon/episodic format. It's how the story was meant to be told. Additionally, as a solo developer, breaking the game up into episodes helps me to focus on one piece of the story at a time and to get content to the public sooner.
When's the next episode coming out?
Episode Two: The Wretched is currently in preproduction. I'm estimating it will be done by early/mid 2017.
How many episodes will there be?
5 total episodes!
What are your inspirations?
Since the concept of Sally Face started off in the form of an animated series, most of the influence comes from 90's cartoons (the shows I grew up with) and my own life experiences. The inception of it all came from the idea of creating something similar to an old Nickelodeon cartoon like Hey Arnold or Doug and making it more warped/twisted/dark; something worthy of being on Adult Swim, next to shows like Metalocalypse and Aqua Teen. That idea and an early character doodle created the foundation of what Sally Face is today.
What happened to Sally's face?
That's a story for another day :)
