Who Are We?
Sanctuary is dedicated to working with New York playwrights to foster their growth and bring their visions to the stage. Encouraging and nurturing artists is an important mission that we need your help to accomplish. By contributing, you help us provide, a home for playwrights, run a biweekly reading series, perform public staged readings, and stage productions.
What Are We Doing?
This fall Sanctuary sheds light on a dark subject as we present, in our own unique way, Lloyd Pace’s 912 OZ. Darkly funny, 912 OZ vividly explores the events of September 11th and the unusual effects on a married couple. Both were having affairs with people who were lost, but not for long, as they suddenly materialize in the couple’s lives.
What We Need
Reaching for the stars, our ultimate goal is to raise $20,000. This money will cover the performance space, set, lights and stipends for our actors and designers. It will also allow us to continue our reading series where playwrights have the opportunity to hear how audiences respond to their work. We extend a warm and welcoming invitation to all these events.
What You Get
Check out the lovely perks available on the right side of your screen! The list includes free tickets, sunglasses, pictures, and more.
But more importantly, be a vital part of our growing theatre community, creating incredible new theatre by brilliant new playwrights.
The Impact
Without contributions like yours we would be unable to bring life to the words of playwrights and foster our vision of theatre.
