How Does Saver Work?
Saver is an emergency breath system that filters toxic
chemical substances such as smoke and carbon dioxide and allows you to breathe
clean air. Hopcalite, the core absorbent material filtering carbon monoxide,
turns carbon monoxide (CO) into carbon dioxide (CO2), allowing the user to
breathe without harm. Saver uses a triple filter that removes smoke and dust,
carbon monoxide, and second hand toxic smoke.

We
recommend having one Saver device for every person living in your home. If you

Does Saver Provide Oxygen?
Saver does not provide oxygen to the user, rather it is built with a
triple filter system that prevents you from breathing hazardous gases. Saver removes smoke and dust, carbon monoxide, and
second hand smoke, allowing you to breathe clean air during a fire and escape
safely.
What Is The Core Material Used For The Filter?
Hopcalite, the core absorbent material filtering carbon monoxide,
turns carbon monoxide (CO) into carbon dioxide (CO2), allowing the user to
breathe without harm.
How Effective Is The Triple Filter?
Test results show that Saver eliminates 92% of toxic gases
for up to 5 minutes. According to the Red Cross, the recommended escape time for a home fire is less than 2
minutes.
Has Saver Been Tested?
Yes. Saver meets best practices for international standards. The toxicity testing of fire effluents ensures that the device is effective in filtering toxic chemicals in smoke. Our manufacturer is ISO 9001 and 14001 certified, OHSAS 18001 certified, and has received Q-Mark Quality Assurance. These certifications acknowledge that the manufacturer complies with regulatory requirements, follow best practices with regards to health and safety, and comply with quality assurance standards aimed at improving product quality and protecting consumers.

includes a nose plug, however we recommend that children plug their nose with
their fingers during the evacuation process. Recommended for ages 6 years and older.
Can Saver Be Used More Than Once?
Saver

cannot be used again. Saver is a disposable product that must be replaced if
used.

Each Saver has an expiration date that is clearly marked on
the side of the device. Due to it’s compact size, the triple filter lasts up to 3.5 years from the manufactured date.
How Does The Flashlight And Alarm Work?
The
flashlight is designed with triple LED lighting in order to penetrate heavy
smoke. The built-in alarm notifies others on scene to your location. For the
portable option, the flashlight has two buttons located on the top to trigger
the light and alarm. For the wall-mounted option, simply remove the flashlight
from the wall mount to trigger the light and alarm. Upon delivery, there will
be a plastic strip located on the back of the flashlight to prevent the battery
from being used. Remember to remove the strip so that the flashlight and alarm
are always in a ready position.
5. HEALTH AND SAFETY
How Does Smoke Kill?
Fire can incapacitate or kill by reducing oxygen levels,
either by consuming the oxygen, or by displacing it with other deadly gases.
Often times smoke incapacitates so quickly, individuals cannot make it to an
exit.
Smoke carries poisons such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen
cyanide and irritants such as formaldehyde and acetic acid. At such high
temperatures, unconsciousness and death can occur within minutes. Bedrooms
located on upper floors are frequently subjected to these conditions.
What Is The Leading Cause Of Fire Fatalities?
Approximately 80% of all fire-related deaths are attributed
to suffocation by toxic gas and smoke, rather than burns from the fire itself.
For every minute you are trapped in a fire, your survival rates decrease 7-10%.
After the first 5 minutes, your chances of survival are less than 25%.
How Often Do Home Fires Occur?
In the United States, 1 person dies in a fire every 169
minutes. Each year, approximately 2,600 people die and 12,600 people are
injured in home fires. Once a minute, a fire occurs in a building structure.
Fire departments respond to over 400,000 residential fires per year.
What Are The Long Term Implications Of Smoke Inhalation?
Smoke inhalation causes shortness of breath
and makes it difficult for a person to breathe. Long-term health effects
resulting from smoke inhalation can include cancer, lung disease, and
cardiovascular disease.
What Is The Recommended Escape Time For A Home Fire?
According to the Red Cross, the time needed to escape home fires has been reduced to as
little as 2 minutes. This is considerably shorter than the 7-minute
response-time target for firefighters.
