What do you do when you hear a compelling true story? You turn it into a film, of course!
In May of 2016 I attended a conference in Orlando, FL where Diana Prykhodko told her unbelievable life story of surviving as an orphan on the streets of Kiev, Ukraine. I, along with the 2000 other people in attendance that day, was blown away by Diana’s candor and the remarkable way she talked about the horrible things she experienced. What struck me the most was the forgiveness that flowed from Diana’s heart toward the person who nearly killed her. I knew then and there that I had to make a film based on her story. The result is Scars of an Orphan. Diana’s story is one of redemption; of transformation; it's a beautiful story of love, hope, and forgiveness about an orphan whose life hung in the balance, time-and-time again.
Partnering with several amazing filmmakers, producers, and writers we've put together an award-winning team who is excited to bring Diana's story to life on the big screen. We plan on casting actors from the U.S. and Ukraine to make this a truly international film. Our goal is to produce a movie that garners national and international attention in order to see worldwide theatrical distribution. This is a story that simply must be told.
Our campaign will help us raise the funds we need to get this film off the ground. The $25,000 we raise will go toward development funds that will get us started with the script, research, travel, casting, and business development needed to make a film of this magnitude.
As filmmakers we are committed to helping people, and we pledge to donate a percentage of the profits generated from the film to organizations who make a difference in the lives of orphans in Ukraine and around the world.
Please give. Your contribution will help launch this important film. Thank you!

A film of this magnitude costs a ton of money to make. Casting A-list actors (we're already working on a list of potential stars) using high end RED cameras, and marketing alone is a huge chunk of the budget. Although $25K won't be nearly enough to pay for all of this, it will help us get started. So, we need to raise $25,000 for development. These funds will help us launch the film project and to pay for the initial costs of writing the script, doing research, building a web site, setting up our legal and business structure, and covering travel costs as we scout filming locations in Ukraine and in the United States. The pie chart on the right shows how these funds will be used.

So, maybe you don't have 5000 bucks, or 100 or even 5 to give, but you have friends and family you talk to and maybe even a boat load of followers on Twitter or Instagram! By all means, be sure to let your tribe know about this project! SPREAD THE WORD! We need people committed to giving; and we need everyone who gives, and everyone who can't give to help spread the word! The quicker we raise the money, the sooner we can get going on making a movie! So get to it...Share it. Tweet it. Instagram it. Blog it. Post it. You can even shout it from the rooftop - probably not very effective, but fun anyway.
