SEASONAL CONTRACT
Seasonal Contract is a short Christmas film being shot in Southampton, UK during 2018 by students in their final year at Solent Southampton University. A dark comedy, the narrative follows a disenchanted young woman who sells her soul to the devil to save her dying mother. However, due to a spelling error, her soul is sold not to Satan but to Santa.
THE CREW
As students this ambitious project is the final aspect of our degree and we will be graded on the finished project. We aim to go above and beyond expectations and produce something that can be enjoyed as something more than a student film, and can be entered into international film festivals. As such we have a strong and dedicated crew who are passionate on making this project the best that it can be. Our previous work includes another project funded via IndieGoGo, A Horse Named Friday, which was chosen to be screened at Southampton Film Festival and chosen for the Long List at Winchester Film Festival.
George R. Lee – Director
George R. Lee is a passionate director who most recently created the short Under the Bed, which has been accepted into seven film festivals, most notably the Berlin Flash Film Festival. His films are known for their distinct locations and set design, which will be evident throughout Seasonal Contract.
Abigail Natali – Producer
This is Abigail’s first time working with this particular crew, chosen for her keen eye for detail and organisation. She visited India to learn about the Bollywood Production Process in Summer 2017 and brings her unique perspective of filmmaking to our project.
Anna Deborah Geddes – Producer
Anna has produced two films directed by George Lee, including A Horse Named Friday and documentary Under the Fur. She has various experience in the industry including working on the ACT2CAM film camps, teaching 11-21 year olds key filmmaking skills.
Fred Osborne – Cinematographer
Fred is a talented cinematographer who has worked on many projects alongside George R. Lee, including the festival successful film Under the Bed. He worked on the Mic Righteous ft. Vivienne Westwood Be There music video, alongside a variety of in-industry experience.
Darren Wan- Lighting

Paul Alliban – Writer and Composer
Paul has written five films during his time at Solent Southampton University, including A Horse Named Friday. Also talented in sound, he will be composing our original soundtrack for Seasonal Contract.
Leon Berry – Editor
Leon Berry has edited multiple films by George Lee. He is particularly interested in Visual Effects which we will be utilising in Seasonal Contract. He is most proud of the short documentary Chasing the Snitch and is eager to get working on this project.
WHY SHOULD YOU DONATE?
This is a new and exciting project, which cannot happen without the help of communities like IndieGoGo. Although we will be posting hints and clips on our social media pages, we are providing exciting perks that cannot be experienced otherwise, including seeing a final version of the film, or even owning your own copy!
We hope that the perks available will encourage you to help us out, as we can’t expect you to give us something for nothing. Plus you will have the knowledge that you have helped us create something truly fantastic and unique!
WHERE WILL THE MONEY BE SPENT?
Seasonal Contract is a film that requires the building of multiple sets, as one of our locations is Santa’s Grotto. We have a strong crew that are more than capable of creating the amazing look we imagine, and the money will go towards getting tools, paints and props to make it happen. We want the film to look as professional as possible, therefore the budget will majorly go towards this and costumes.
We are also in the process of casting some amazing actors for this project, who we will announce throughout the campaign.
RISKS AND CHALLENGES
Filmmaking is an incredibly risky industry, which is why we are taking every precaution for the event of an issue. As we began planning this film nearly six months ago, we have been able to troubleshoot any issue we may have.
The nature of our film actually allows us to prevent one of the biggest issues with producing a film in the UK, the British weather. All of our locations are either sets built in studios or interior locations elsewhere. In the event that shooting is delayed or we need more time, we will be scheduling pick up shoots to make sure Seasonal Contract can be completed to the highest standard.
Ultimately we are a strong crew who will be as prepared as possible for shooting. We hope you have faith in us to deliver you a fantastic film, and we are so excited to see the final result!
