What a Year!
This past fall was quite the adventure for A Far Cry! After launching our very own record label, Crier Records, we released its first album, Dreams and Prayers. A program conceptualized by our own programming sorceress, Miki Cloud, and initially rendered in a hometown performance by the criers and their friend, David Krakauer back in 2012, Dreams and Prayers has nurtured A Far Cry's collective soul through some of our most important formative years. We couldn't wait to get those tracks laid down and were fortunate to be able to record it in the fall of 2013. It was then that our incredible A Far Cry support system reached out and helped us put it into production by successfully funding our Dreams and Prayers Kickstarter. This is most definitely why we feel as if this album belongs not only to Miki, as the initial "conceptualizer", to the criers as the "renderers", but also to YOU the SUPPORTERS. This is really YOUR album - and guess what? YOUR album was nominated for a Grammy®! Whether you donated to our kickstarter, have been to 25 concerts or 1, whether you've known us from our humble beginnings or are learning about us for the first time - this album belongs to YOU too because without your ears, your facebook shares, your youtube views, your support.... your love...we wouldn't exist.
What We Need
We at A Far Cry are so super duper stoked to be invited to the Grammys for this nominated album! Luckily, amidst our concert schedule in February we were able carve out a few days to attend the awards ceremony. (!!!) The only thing is, our A Far Cry family is kind of big and we need some help covering the expenses of taking our big loving family all the way to Los Angeles. This is a special fundraiser and separate from our annual appeal because we will use the money we raise here just for this project.
We have had two generous supporters donate a combined total of $4000 and we are asking YOU to help us match that amount! The money we raise will help us pay for the travel and accommodation expenses associated with representing our entire extended A Far Cry family at one of the most important musical events an artist can be a part of.
