Hello Everyone, we are a new production company based in Los Angeles, CA. N & J Productions is the brain child of Nicholas Nathaniel and Jermaine Risby. We developed this production with the goal of producing and eventually distributing our own projects. Like our model says, our goal is to produce great projects with amazing commercial appeal without sacrificing creative integrity.
This project, "SHARED SPACE", is the first project we are looking to produce with the intention of selling it to a major network such as NBC, ABC, FOX or going digital such as Amazon Prime, Netflix or Hulu.
SHARED SPACE is a TV show concept about a young Asian American actor having to start his life over after being kicked out of his girlfriend's house and has to move into a hostel-style housing situation. The show will follow him as he develops relationships with the characters in the house and in the process keeping what is left of his sanity.
This show is a shout out to 90's style shows such as "Full House", "Fresh Prince of Bell Air" and "Save By The Bell".
SHARED SPACE is very important to us as it's our first project that we are producing under this new banner and it could really make or break us as a production company as there are many companies in LA and we are looking to set ourselves apart from the masses.
With your help we can pay the cast and crew the money that they deserve because of their hard work towards us and the project. A lot of our crew and talent have taken a big pay cut and some are even willing to work for free and because of that it would be great to really pay them what they are worth.
Unfortunately, with the economy the way it is, we are having a tough time paying for things out of pocket, so your help would be greatly appreciated.

As of now we need about $5,000 to be able to secure everything needed for shooting. This includes paying the crew, securing locations as well as feeding the cast and crew for the 4 day shoot.
We will offer special viewings of the pilot as well as things like memorabilia signed from the cast.
If we don't reach our goal, any money we raise will help off set cost in any way possible.

The Impact
This project is very important to not just us but to the world of how people perceive a truly international cast that represents America. In media we have too much racial divide but the truth is that America is a melting pot of all different people who interact with each other on a regular basis and we believe that media doesn't truly showcase that unless they are trying to point out our racial tension. This show will highlight an interracial cast in normal situations that aren't based on race.
One thing with this project that's important is also showing an Asian lead without being an "Asian" based show such as "All American Girl" or "Fresh Off The Boat" which we don't showcase too much in modern television.
We here at N & J Productions are just looking to create amazing content that is entertaining as well as thought provoking without being preachy. We know the projects we produce will put smiles on people faces, we just need support from those in a position to be able to step up and help us get over the initial hump.

Risks & Challenges
As you know there are always risks associated with any creative venture, but we will do our best to make sure that this project is at least sold. Depending on how much is raised, it would be amazing to be able to produce the project completely on our own and then find a way to stream the project ourselves.
This project will be completed with or without funding, but the funding would make it easier to pay those who are willing to put their tears and sweat into the project because they are worth it.
