From young elegant lady...to masked fury!
Irma wishes to be the perfect girl: chaste, feminine, and generous. But when a giant monster stomps through her hometown, her plans crumbled right along with the stores and apartments.
In the chaos of acrid smoke and panicked civilians, the private military company Shadow Heart snatched her friend out of the crowd and took her captive.
Now Irma must pilot the Grand Valkyur, a mechanical titan of steel more powerful than any weapon made by human hands. With a brilliant sword that could cut any matter and gleaming armor that could withstand any weapon, the Valkyur challenges all who dare to fight it.
But piloting the Valkyur means using violence -- and to Irma, violence is men's work.
How can she rescue her friend without betraying the feminine elegance she prides herself on?

I'm Rawle Nyanzi, author of the novella Sword & Flower and numerous other short stories, and I want to do something that has rarely been attempted before: tell superheroic stories in the context of an alternate history. The world of Shining Tomorrow is a world where the Central Powers claimed victory in World War I, resulting in a 21st century where Japan and Germany are superpowers and the United States -- now called the North American Federation -- has fallen under Japanese rule.
Most superhero tales take place in the modern day, usually the time they're published (give or take a few years.) Secondary worlds are quite rare in superhero media, and alternate histories are even rarer. With this novel -- the first in a series of four -- I plan to shake up both the superhero and the alternate history genres and deliver a thrilling tale of good versus evil, heroes versus villains, and courage versus fear.
But everyone and their dog has an e-book on Amazon. Indeed, this one will be released in May of this year.
What they don't have are audiobooks, and that's what this crowdfund is for. Voice teacher and concert harpist Moira Greyland (who did the voiceover in the video) will lend her talents to this project and truly make it special.
To move this forward, I will need to raise at least $1,000 from everyone. I can only deliver the goods if the campaign is fully funded. If it's not funded, don't worry! You lose no money if the campaign falls short of its goal, and both the e-book and the print versions will release on Amazon as scheduled.
