So Who Are You?
Founded by acclaimed director, actor and overall geek Daniel Wood, The Rogues Gallery is a theater company dedicated to producing plays with geek themes. The spark of the idea for this theater company was born at
PAX Prime 2010, in front of an audience of 550 geeks during a standing ovation for the world premier of Cameron McNary's play "Of Dice and Men", about a group of 30-something Dungeons & Dragons players. It was a monumental experience which
famously made Tycho's mom cry.
Now Daniel and Cameron are teaming up once again to bring you his newest brilliant incarnation, "Shoggoths on the Veldt."
What's This All About Then?
Putting on a professional play is expensive. Putting on a professional play that includes the kind of special effects necessary for a good CTHULHU story even more so. The $5,000 we raise will be used to design props of eldritch horror, purchase exotic weapons for epic stage fights, create gorgeous period costumes designed by award winning costume designer Julia Evanovich and, of course, as any good CTHULHU story needs, build giant tentacles with which to assault our heroes.

But Why Give To This Show?
Because nobody else is doing anything like this. Because we want to bring genuine, unabashed geekery to the stage; the kind of geekery that has been shamefully absent from live theater. Because we're just a small crew of scrappy scoundrels in the big, black 'verse of Seattle theater. Raising $5,000 is infinitesimally tiny compared to the budget of a theater like the Seattle Rep, but for a crew like us it feels like trying to make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. Unlike the Seattle Rep, we don't have access to tens of thousands of dollars in government grants and we don't have the backing of Rich White People and their large corporate money.
What we have is you.
And we're telling all new stories--exciting, fun, original stories--stories those big theaters don't want to tell you. All of our money is going to the artists instead of bloated administrative costs. All of our money is going toward innovation and creativity and adventure. And we need you to succeed.

Risks & Challenges
If we don't raise this money then we will have to perform the play with shoe string and duct tape and pay our artists with a complimentary cheese platter. WE ARE SOMEWHAT INNOVATIVE. But not even we would be able to overcome that disaster.
