My life was changed forever in 2012 when a Roma Gypsy man in Sofia Bulgaria offered to sell me his 6 month old baby for 50 dollars, simply because I said he was beautiful.

A Year On The Road

Starting last January, I spent a few months working my way around Seattle & the Northwest, but there was so much more to capture. In May I moved out of my apartment and took to the road in my 1987 Oldsmobile. Some of the highlights that you’ll see in the book are from the 20 national parks and 5 countries that I visited over the following 7 months.

Giving up the comforts of home was a sacrifice, but the adventure I had in return was worth it all. This project couldn't have happened without the generosity of the family, friends, and strangers who helped me along the way.

I saw some of the most beautiful views that this planet has to offer. It is scenery that stands in sharp contrast to the darkness of the trafficking that I hope to expose. I’m truly proud of the shots that you’ll see in this book, as well as the stories behind them.

In addition to the photos, I asked some inspiring leaders to share their thoughts on fighting trafficking. People like Jason Kennedy from E! News, Christine Caine the founder of A21 and NY times best selling author Judah Smith had some encouraging things to say. Their interviews will definitely challenge you the way they challenged me.

Who I am

I’m Tanner Wendell Stewart, a professional photographer born and bred in Wallowa County Oregon but have been living in Seattle for the past 8 years.

My first photograph was published by a local newspaper when I was 13. They paid me $13.50 and I bought a punk rock CD: MxPx’s Teenage Politics.

Since then, I’ve made it my life’s work to capture the beauty of the world I live in. My friends will tell you: I’ll do anything to get the perfect shot. I hope you enjoy the book and give as much as you can to help The A21 Campaign end human trafficking, once and for all.

What We Need & What You Get

• Every single book in the 1st edition will be numbered, signed by me and sent to your door. When you buy a book, you're giving around $17 to print the book and cover indiegogo’s fee. The remaining $28 will be donated to the A21 Campaign. Which means this book could raise close to $28,000 dollars to abolish injustice and modern day slavery.

• I need to sell a minimum of 1000 books. If I sell 1,500 books the cost goes down by $4 and 2,000 books by $5. I will be very transparent about all the details and progress. I am taking no proceeds or reimbursements from the book but cannot afford to fund the book myself.

• Since I’ll be managing every aspect of the book printing process, I am only selling the book and no additional perks, just books and more books.

• It was suggested that a 400 page 8x10 book with photos like mine should be sold for  $70 dollars. I wanted to make this as affordable as possible, but still a significant amount of money to donate.

• The book is being printed in china but I refuse to print somewhere that would compromise what this project fights for. I’ve spent a lot of time researching quality and making sure of fair working conditions/wages. 

• If the goal is not reached, all of your money will be refunded and this will have been the greatest adventure of my life (thus far) and a great awareness campaign for A21.

• You buying this book could raise close to $28,000 dollars for the A21 Campaign.

• The book is about 90% done but is now waiting on the finances. By the time the campaign is over I’ll be ready to send the Shoot The Skies book to print.
