Project Summary
A first date at the drive-ins seems to be going perfectly until… sniff sniff. Silent, But Deadly is a short comedy that follows a cute blind date that becomes uncomfortable after one of them passes gas instead of the popcorn. But who did the deed? Neither will admit it… was it even one of them?
This project was inspired by the awkwardness of first dates and the fear of being too human around someone. Sometimes audiences and filmmakers forget that not all films have to include heavy underlying themes and serious topics. This short is here to make audiences laugh and forget about the dread of existence in everyday life.
Remember, life is supposed to be fun! And everybody farts… (yes even you)
Director Statement
If you’re reading this and I didn’t beg you to click the link to this, let me introduce myself. My name is Jack Colin and I am a filmmaker from Upstate New York. I studied Screenwriting & Playwriting at Purchase College and got a little piece of paper proving that in 2021. Usually I find myself procrastinating my future writing projects, but here I am with my directorial debut!
Not only did I write this, but I have the honor of directing and producing it too. Luckily, I’ve tricked some of my best friends into helping me make this silly short a stinking (get it?) reality!
Thanks for reading this far! Might as well keep going.
Why Money Unfortunately Matters…
All jokes aside, beautiful films require beautiful people and their talent. Silent, But Deadly‘s miniscule budget of $2,500 will cover the rates of the incredibly gifted crew to ensure that what we see and hear on screen will be the best that it can be.
Your contributions will also go to the following:
Post production costs including score & color grading
Food & Safety necessities on set
Props/ Costuming for our cast
State of the art movie poster
Film Festival Submissions
I appreciate you for not only contributing to my film, but also supporting the arts and smaller filmmakers who are trying their best in this world of hundred million dollar film budgets.
