The Story
When Casey is pleasantly (or devastatingly) surprised that Tally, the girl of his dreams, says yes to a date, he looks to his friends about what he is even supposed to do on a date, considering that this is his first date ever. After receiving the best advice two single high schoolers are able to give, Casey must anxiously tackle his long awaited date with Tally.
This stylized take on a 90's romcom is about accepting yourself and realizing that what you bring to the table is worth it, and that lying is never a good alternative. Ever (and to repeat it for the people in the back on a first date, we really mean, EVER). Honesty is the best policy, and even when you do make a mistake, you have to accept what you've done as wrong, which means being truthful and honest.

The Filmmakers
You've met a few of our core team members, but there are so many more people involved than meets the eye. In order to complete such a film as Skate Night, (or any film for that matter) it requires the time, talent, and devotion that we were so fortunate to find in our classmates.

What We Need
We understand that $5,550 is a lot of money (trust us, we're college students, we know). However, have you ever heard the saying, "You cannot eat a whole chicken in one bite"? We can attest to it, (we've tried, because, again, we're college students). So, we decided to share our budget breakdown with you so that you're able to see where all your money will be going in aiding us in making this movie:
Location: $2,000
Actors: $1,500
Costuming: $300
Set Deck / Props: $150
Traveling Costs: $300
MISC, Fees, Festival Runs: $1,300
Total: $5,550
If you are unable to donate but wish to still help us in some way, please post, share, and comment on our posts and get our names out there!
Note: If you don't want to donate through indiegogo (or if you want to donate after our campaign has closed) you can send a check to John Paul the Great Catholic University (220 W Grand Ave, Escondido, CA 92025) and put "Skate Night" on the memo line! By doing this, you will also be helping us keep the 5% that indiegogo takes out of each donation!
P.S. In addition to helping us in all of these ways, here is another incentive for you to donate to our cause: Because the money will go through a non-profit organization (John Paul the Great Catholic University), you can write your donation off as tax-deductible!
