The most exciting SLEDS you've ever ridden!

We took the simple snow sled and made it wearable!  Don't carry your sled, wear it!  With Sled Legs, you simply run up the hill, take a few quick steps, slide, and enjoy the ride!

Project Development

Sled Legs was first tested with simple cardboard mock-ups as well as cutting a basic sled in 2 pieces and attaching straps.  This led us down the path to create multiple versions of more intricate prototypes.  The challenge was to create a product that allowed a great sledding experience as well as maneuvering while standing, walking, and running.

How it works

After building multiple prototypes and testing, we figured out a way to provide leg support and comfort when sledding.  The real discovery was creating our patent pending molded foam pad design that elevates your leg to keep your toes from dragging in the snow while supporting your leg.  This break-through is what really makes Sled Legs possible.

Sled Details

Sled Legs is made up of a following components:

• Outer Hard Shell made of ABS plastic.  Surface has 4 ridges to help guide sleds down hill.
  
• Knee and Ankle Straps.  These are both adjustable in length and the location on the sleds can be adjusted to fit your specific leg length.
• Nylon Nuts and Bolts hold the adjustable straps to the outer shell.
• Molded Foam pad that provides support and comfort when sledding.
• Sled Legs Emblem proudly displayed at the top of each sled.
  

Sizes

Sled Legs will be offered in 2 sizes to accommodate more people.  The small version will best work with persons that are a height of 4 foot 9 inches to 5 foot 5 inches.  The Large version will work best for users with a height 5 foot 6 inches to 6 foot 3 inches.

Estimated Project Timeline

Once we are funded, we will start production of Sled Legs.   Early adopters will receive their Sled Legs with the initial production run.  Other orders will follow shortly after.

The money we have spent up to this point has been for prototype tooling and molds.  We need your support to purchase the production tooling to mass produce Sled Legs.  We've proven with our prototypes that we have a product that performs well and  can be manufactured.  We have factories available to step into full production.  These are the same factories that produced our prototypes.  Helps us take the next step and provide Sled Legs to the masses!

FAQ

Are Sled Legs fast in the snow?  Yes, they are!  Our original name for this was Shred Legs if that's any indication.  And unlike a traditional sled, you can take a running start into your slide, rather than paddling your hands trying to gain speed.
Are these easy to use?  As with any new product, it takes a few tries to get the hang of it.  Compared to skiing or snowboarding, these are much easier to learn.  The low center of gravity makes it very comfortable to get the hang of.  Sliding and transitioning to running to your feet, as well as jumps & tricks will take a little time to master.  The key is to start on a small hill and work your way up!
Are these offered in multiple sizes?  Sled Legs will be offered in 2 sizes (see sizes chart) to accommodate most people.
Are these offered in multiple colors?  For our initial production, Sled Legs will only be offered in orange.  We will expand to other colors in the future.
