Our Story
Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast is a creation by writer/director Sam Qualiana it is Currently in pre-production
some filming is already underway and will continue throughout the next few months. So far there is a great cast behind the film that is growing everyday. Including, as he's well known "Buffalo's Donald Pleasence" Michael O'Hear, Sam Qualiana, Jackey Hall, Bob Bozek and rising stars Andrew Elias, John Renna, Chris Wroblewski and Sherri Litz.
It's like Jaws meets The Thing, that pays tribute to the fading genre of Classic Monster Films we used to see on the silver screen.
The story is as follows: 12 years ago during a scientific expedition 3 animal biologists stumbled upon a great discovery that ended in tragedy. 7 years ago the disappearances of many locals tied into that discovery. Now a Cryptozoologist and team, will seek the answers to the legend of the Ancient Snow Beast... if they can live to tell the tale!
Sam Qualiana, winner of the Filmmaker to Watch Award in 2010's Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival wrote and directed such other films as No Road Out and Swamp Squad of the Dead. And another film currently in Post-Production titled Like Icarus, Quickly Falling. Sam has also lent his hand in dozens of other films all across the states as well as acted in over 10 films including Zombie Babies, Post Mortem, America 2021, Echo Lake, Decayed, Crimson: The Motion Picture, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead and the list goes on.
The Impact
This film is packed with originality in a world where films are constantly being recycled. It's something new and fresh to the "killer shark" genre. Never before has there been a film with a prehistoric shark that moves through the snow! and in a world where indepedent film is a HUGE struggle, If this campaign doesn't work then the whole cast and crew will indeed struggle to see it through until the end. It WILL be finished, but we hope to make it go by as smooth as possible!
What We Need & What You Get
Because the film is trying so hard to pay tribute to classic Monster Films, we don't want to use CGI. We have a SFX guy who is going to work on creating an actual life size shark body that can devour our cast! The trouble with that is nothing comes free and the more we put into it the better the shark will look.
With a few more bucks we can also get some much needed lighting and sound equipment. We may need to pay to use some locations as well.
Also seeing as a lot of people will work for free on this project we would feel much better catering to them so they come back everyday! A happy actor is a fed actor!
There are many awesome perks to helping fund the film as well!!! Including Producer credits, a walk on role. DVDs, and much more!
