So What Is It About?
Two lifelong friends are spending time together one evening at a bar. Some things are revealed that makes them question who they are, what they want, and how strong the bond of friendship is...
Both funny and poignant, intimate and universal, this story of Ricky and John will have us wondering what we would do for our friends.

This film is based on the 10 minute play by Christopher Demos-Brown that was performed as part of Studio 4 Seattle's short play festival and the Seattle Fringe Festival.
So Who Am I and Why Am I Doing This?
I am a professional actor who has performed on stages in Seattle, across New England, and in Edinburgh, Scotland. I have appeared in films, commercials, educational videos, and PBS documentaries. (Here is my Facebook page, and this is my IMDb page). I am a proud member of both Actors' Equity Association (AEA) and the Screen Actors' Guild (SAG-AFTRA). I have produced and directed plays, taught theater to students of all ages, and now it's time for me to produce and direct a film.
I have spent decades imagining the films I will make and have attempted for years to write the "perfect" screenplay. Everything clicked into focus this past Fall while directing "So I Was Wondering..." for the Seattle Fringe Festival. THIS WILL BE MY FILM!! (A statement that has been a long time coming)
So Who Else Is Involved?
Cast:
Jesse Putnam and David Nail, who performed the play with tremendous success, will be reprising their roles. They are both consummate theater artists who deftly captured the subtleties, nuances, and great humor of the play and know how to translate those performances for the smaller, more intimate frame of the camera.

Crew:
As a first time director I need an experienced and professional Cinematographer at my side, and I have found that in Chad Perkins. A filmmaker himself, Chad has worked as a producer, director, cinematographer, and editor and he will be editing this film as well. With his depth of knowledge of the film industry he has assembled an incredible crew for this project.
Music:
I am honored to say that all of the original music for this film is being composed and recorded by the brilliant and incomparable Beth Fleenor (of Crystal Beth and the Boom Boom Band, among others).
Production:
While I will be the producer and director of this film, I am thrilled that my good friend Aneesh Sheth and her company Wheelhouse Productions will be helping me, along with all of the incredible artists with Studio 4 Seattle.
So Why Do I Need So Much Money?
Excellent question...making a film is very expensive! I have very high expectations for this film and I want it to be done right, with dedicated professionals who take pride in their work. Also, as a working artist myself, I want to make sure that everyone who is on my set is compensated for their time. These will be long hours, shooting overnight.
For this shoot I will be hiring:
- a cinematographer
- a sound technician
- a gaffer (lighting and electrical)
- a media manager (to store and backup all of the footage)
- a script supervisor
- a grip/PA
- 2 actors
- 5 background artists (extras)
- an editor
- a sound mixer
- a photographer
- a composer (plus a 5 piece band and studio rental)
- a poster designer
Plus:
- buying hard drives to store all of the footage
- providing food for 15 people for 2 nights
- entrance fees for film festivals
- etc. etc. etc.
...it all adds up.
I have set my goal here at $13,000, but to truly cover all of my costs and make this film as great as I know it will be, I am hoping to raise $15,000.
