Social Media for Social Change
Social Media allows the exchange of information in a digital
age.
Hillel: The Foundation of Jewish Campus Life has a mission
of enriching Jewish College Students, so that they may enrich the world and the
Jewish People. I have since left the organization, but I’d like to take the
opportunity to give back.
I have spent some time training larger Hillels that can
afford training. This campaign is aimed at raising funds to help smaller
schools receive training as well as raising awareness that such training
exists.
Hillel Participating
- University of Guelph
- College of Charleston
Why am I raising money?
Good Question! The money will be used to
hire 5 interns on 5 different campuses with small Hillels. The money raised
will go directly to the campuses participating. I’d like to donate my time and
knowledge to help these small schools achieve their organizational goals. The trainings will be via webinar.
How can you help?
If you can’t donate, that’s okay. Please share this campaign
with your networks via Facebook, Twitter, email and smoke signals.
What will the Small
Schools Receive?
. Social
media audit
. Discussion of social media time management
. Assistance in developing a social media strategy
. Insight into little known social media facts
. Working with Pinterest to engage students, parents and donors
. Employing social media media to recruit for Taglit-Birthright
. Analysis of social media for informed
marketing decisions
. Using social media for accurate event RSVPs
. Highlight of 3rd party tools
that enhance a social media strategy
. Additional topics as chosen by participants
How will you benefit?
Blog posts and a dedicated Facebook account will be created
to highlight specific examples of social media for social good. Although only 5
schools will be able to participate, their successes and failures will be
highlighted via social media from all to learn from.
When does it start?
The trainings will start at the beginning of the Spring 2014
Semester and will last an hour. The cohort of interns will be paid at the
completion of the semester and the trainings. Again, all the money raised will
go directly to the interns participating, not me personally.
Thanks for your help!
