Thank you for checking us out. You rock!!!
Our product is The Soothing Back Vest. Like stated above, it helps support a painful, sore or aching back. We need start-up capital because we have never really had that. We have been trying to fund this business off of weekly paychecks. And we had trouble finding investor is a bad economy. But I think, if we can raise some start-up capital (continuation capital, really) with your help, finding investors won't be as hard.
[Be an Actor in our 2015 commercial!!! See below!]
We also want to show the Vest off at a Trade show or two. Money raised on this site will help get the Vest before the right people/companies.
Wow, you have a great idea, something that will help millions of people feel much better, and you think the rest is rich man history! Oh no.
You show it to people, they love it, love it! But--the economy, I'm broke right now, I have too many bills, no one can purchase one or invest at the moment. And all those company's that "show your invention" want big money first! One such company wanted almost $11,000 over three years!
My name is Jonell Murphy. I'm a substitute teacher and a paralegal (and a
future writer/inventor). My partner is Naipaul (Paul) Sookdeo. He is a
tailor/inventor. Our company is Sookdeo Tailoring.
Everyone knows someone with an aching or problem back. Our simple little vest helps that large world wide problem. With a hold, a grip, and pressure placed in all the right places. The back, the abdomen, the shoulders, everything held firm, tightly and comfortably. Yes--it looks like just a plain old vest, but 4 out of 6 people really feel the big difference once they try it on.
Our company, Sookdeo (sook-day-oh) Tailoring, has been working on this for almost two years, hitting dead end at every turn. Paul is the tailor that thought up this invention (patent pending) when he was having problems with his own aching back. It seems the chiropractor just made him feel worst. So he sat at his trusty sewing machine (remember those) and solved his own painful problem. Then he showed it to me, his business partner Jonell.
So far Paul is a far better tailor than I am a business women. But I'm getting better and growing more of a spine everyday. And yes, I have applied to Shark Tank! I can just image that waiting list!!! We want to be stronger when and if we get before the Sharks--you have seen them rip into companies that are not ready to rock!!!
There is a trade show, an annual event, in Pittsburgh in June. Even though we are cutting it close, I think that show will help us get the Soothing Back Vest before people and companies. And a second show later in the year or early in the beginning of next year will keep the momentum going for us--With your help.
Two trade shows would cost:
Trade show $1795
transportation to another state for 2 $500
Four day motel stay for 2 $1100
Material to make more samples $300
Food/tips/taxi/misc $430
total ___________________
$4125 x 2 = $8250
Even if we just get enough for one show--great!!!
The other $21,750.00 collected will be used to restart, set-up and prefect the vest, build up our advertising, reward the perks offered, and improve and grow our company. We lost our place of business last year. Now, if we get the money, we will be able to afford a new maybe better location.
Thank you. J. Murphy and N. Sookdeo
