I'm a recent graduate of Ryerson Film studies BFA where I spent four years honing my talents in writing and directing. I specialize within the mystery genre and aim to bring fresh insight to a category that has been somewhat lacking over the past few years. I have assembled a small skeleton crew of people I like to work with and more than anything just want to scare the crap out of all of you with a really good horror film.

Staircase is based on a short story that I have been very interested in for a while now, not only because it's a great horror story, but due to its relative simplicity from a production standpoint. It's a film with 3 characters, and only one major setting. This simplicity is crucial to independent filmmakers. We're not hollywood; we can't have a new set every two minutes with dozens of characters and reasonably pull it off on a budget.
That being said, this story is anything but simple. The protagonist is clever, trusts his gut instincts, and does not fall into the same common pitfalls you find in bad horror movies. What happens to our protagonist could happen to anyone of us, and that's what makes it scary.
Estimated Runtime: 32 Minutes.
Based on Soren Narnia's "Staircase" segment of his Knifepoint Horror Series.
Shooting in March, hitting the festival circuit before releasing in October 2017..![]()
Location Locked:
We have found a beautiful location in the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, to shoot in for 4 days. The house is a frank Llyod Wright design that aims to blend the structure with its natural surroundings. We picked this house because of the great textures, as well as the privacy and seclusion that it provides.

Where is the money going?
Almost entirely to securing the best actors we can afford to bring this great story to life.
If we surpass our goal, any additional funds raised after our actors are secured will go into bolstering our production design and makeup effects budget.
The Impact
We are all filmmakers at heart but in reality we all have to work a day job just like everybody else to pay the bills or just attempt to chip away at that student debt. We save and squirrel away money for the opportunity for another shot to bring to film a story that makes people smile, or in this case (hopefully) jump out of their skin.
The impact of this campaign is immense for everybody involved and lessens the burden that would make projects of this scale next to impossible to achieve on our own.
Other Ways You Can Help
Please help spread the word about our campaign to get to the eyes and ears of horror fans and fans of the original short story from the Knife Point Horror Series by Soren Narnia.
We're open to starting any conversation about the film, perhaps you know a talented actor that you think might be interested in working on the film, or anyone passionate about filmmaking that might want to contribute in some way.
